Attending the event were member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh.
This year, Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 carries the message: "Reading culture - Connecting the community"; "Entering the era of national growth with books"; "Reading books - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity".
According to the organizers, this message not only emphasizes the role of books, but also encourages every Vietnamese citizen to consider reading books to improve knowledge as a regular, daily task. That is a practical action to contribute to the overall development of the country.
Book and Reading Culture Day also aims to honor the value of books and encourage the reading movement in the community, raising people's awareness of the great significance and importance of reading for the development of knowledge, skills, thinking, education and training of human personality. This is also an opportunity to honor readers and those who participate in collecting, composing, publishing, printing, distributing and preserving books. At the same time, it contributes significantly to raising the responsibility of all levels and sectors for building and developing a reading culture in Vietnam.
In addition to displaying books, the organizing committee also launched the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025 in Hue City to attract and create conditions for organizations and individuals to participate in activities to develop a reading culture, aiming to build a learning society, arousing the desire to contribute to the development of a prosperous country in every Vietnamese person.

On this occasion, the organizers presented 300 copies of the book to public libraries, private libraries, local reading spaces, prisons, detention camps, and schools in the city. In addition, 200 other copies were presented to units, researchers, and localities to continue spreading knowledge and unique cultural values of the ancient capital of Hue.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, stated that books are not only a treasure trove of human knowledge but also a constant companion, silently nurturing the soul, cultivating personality and arousing the desire to live beautifully and usefully in each of us. In the fast-paced world of digital technology and modern media, the habit of reading is gradually being forgotten. Therefore, the event of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 is an important occasion for us to look back and rekindle the love of books, promoting reading culture throughout society.
