Introducing the book "Cam Pha

After nearly 2 years of construction, completion of compilation, approval of outline and acceptance, the book "Cam Pha - Land and People" was launched on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025).

Comrade Pham Van Kinh, Vice Chairman of Cam Pha City People's Committee, said that this is a research project, a publication that not only has a comprehensive value on the history, culture, and natural conditions of Cam Pha City, but also has a lot of spiritual significance at a time with many important milestones such as: Organizing the summary of 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art; celebrating the 50th anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South, reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025); responding to the annual "Book and Reading Culture Day".

In particular, the book was launched at the right time to implement the Project to rearrange and reorganize administrative units at all levels and build a model of organizing two-level local governments nationwide.

In that context, the book is not only a recognition of the great contributions of generations of cadres and people of all ethnic groups in Cam Pha city in the journey of construction and development, but also a symbol preserving the memory of a memorable historical period of Cam Pha.

Each page is a mark of a land rich in revolutionary traditions, a tribute to the past, and at the same time a valuable asset for today's and future generations to understand, love and continue on the path of building an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.

Delegates attended the launching ceremony and introduced the book "Cam Pha - Land and People".

The book consists of 10 chapters, divided into 3 main parts.

Part 1: On natural conditions, population, administration, synthesis of geographical conditions, natural resources, origin, fluctuations and characteristics of population, history of changes and administrative organization of Cam Pha city.

Part 2: About history, summarizes the historical process of the city from its origin to 2022, through periods and stages, both associated with the history of the country and Quang Ninh province, and also reflects the unique characteristics of Cam Pha land.

Part 3: On culture, reflecting on the material life, spiritual culture of Cam Pha residents past and present, historical and artistic relics as a cultural resource of Cam Pha city.

Participating in compiling the book are researchers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Science under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and a number of other scientific agencies.

The book is compiled on the basis of published research achievements, investigation results, and collection of documents from central archives, Quang Ninh province, Cam Pha city, religions, beliefs, wards, communes, and organizations and individuals in the city.

Leaders of Cam Pha City People's Committee presented the book "Cam Pha - Land and People" to delegates.

The book “Cam Pha - Land and People” has comprehensively synthesized the geography, population, history, land, people, cultural traditions and the fight against foreign invaders, the spirit of hard work, production and creativity of the people of Cam Pha mining area with the tradition of “Discipline and Unity” of the heroic mining land and the spirit of “Convergence of miners’ culture - Spreading the humanity of the coal region”.

The book is a document of scientific and practical value, contributing to affirming the important strategic position of Cam Pha in the development of Quang Ninh province in particular and Vietnam in general.
