Nang Cat is one of the villages in Tri Nang commune that still preserves many cultural identities of the Thai ethnic group. Currently, about 80% of the households in the village still live in traditional stilt houses of the Thai ethnic group. The villagers still preserve many folk songs and dances imbued with national identity.
The Nang Cat village art troupe, Tri Nang commune actively participates in village and commune activities, contributing to preserving traditional culture.
In recent years, many households have promoted their potential and strengths, invested in building infrastructure and equipment to develop community tourism . Currently, Tri Nang village has 16 households providing tourism services to welcome guests. The number of tourists coming to the village is increasing, creating jobs and increasing income for workers. According to statistics from Tri Nang commune, from the beginning of 2023 to now, Nang Cat village has attracted more than 20,000 tourists to visit and experience. Tourism development has created jobs for more than 50 workers in the village, with an average income of 4 million VND/month.
Mr. Ha Van Tiep, Head of Nang Cat village, said: Tourists coming to Nang Cat village, in addition to admiring the majestic mountains and forests, also want to experience the unique cultural features of ethnic minorities. Therefore, Nang Cat village regularly promotes and mobilizes people in the village to preserve traditional cultural identity; establish cultural and artistic clubs and teams, organize cultural activities, both to introduce and promote the beauty of ethnic culture and to create highlights to attract tourists. Currently, Nang Cat village has 3 active art troupes, making an important contribution to preserving traditional cultural values.
Along with Nang Cat village, many villages in Tri Nang commune still preserve and promote traditional cultural beauty. Currently, about 50% of households in the commune live in traditional stilt houses of the Thai people; folk songs and dances imbued with the identity of the Thai ethnic group are preserved and promoted by the people; many households in the commune still maintain the weaving profession to make brocade products for tourists to buy as souvenirs. In addition, Tri Nang commune propagates and mobilizes villages to establish mass art troupes to serve the activities of the village, the commune and tourists who come to visit and experience here. Currently, mass art troupes regularly organize practice and exchange, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
Mr. Le Phi Hoa, Vice Chairman of Tri Nang Commune People's Committee, said: To preserve and promote traditional cultural values associated with tourism development, Tri Nang Commune issued a tourism development plan for the period 2023-2025. Striving by 2025, Tri Nang Commune will welcome 30,000 visitors, of which 1,000 will be international visitors; total tourism and service revenue will reach 8 billion VND; attracting and creating jobs for 100 direct workers. To achieve this goal, Tri Nang Commune continues to focus on investing in building infrastructure to serve tourism development; paying attention to building tourism products; strengthening tourism promotion and advertising activities; Focus on training and improving the quality of tourism human resources... In addition, Tri Nang commune continues to promote propaganda and mobilize people to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, through organizing the restoration of folk songs, folk dances, and Thai Khap; cultural and artistic exchanges. Coordinate with schools to bring the cultural beauty of the Thai ethnic group into extracurricular activities, raising awareness among students in preserving and promoting the national cultural identity. Thereby, contributing to exploiting the potential and advantages to develop tourism, create jobs, and improve people's lives.
