The investigation results released on January 18 pointed out inconsistencies between the Brazilian Ministry of Health's records and former President Bolsonaro's vaccination records, according to AFP.
According to the records of Mr. Bolsonaro, who has publicly opposed the Covid-19 vaccine, he received a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at a medical center in the city of Sao Paulo in July 2022.
However, the investigation results showed that Mr. Bolsonaro left Sao Paulo the day before and stayed in the city of Brasilia for the next 3 days.

The nurse listed in the records as having administered the vaccine to Mr Bolsonaro said she had not done so and was no longer working at the health centre. The batch of vaccines listed in the records was also not available that day.
The registration of two other doses of vaccine to be administered to Mr Bolsonaro was also removed from the records before the investigation began.
"Regarding the vaccination that is said to have taken place in Sao Paulo, the only data that remains on Mr. Bolsonaro's vaccination card, the conclusion is that it was falsified in the system used for registering Covid-19 vaccinations," the Control Office announced.
Although the investigation concluded that Mr Bolsonaro’s Covid-19 vaccination certificate was “fake”, it recommended closing the case due to a lack of evidence to identify those responsible. It also noted that many civil servants entered incorrect data by accessing the vaccination computer system.

One of the goals of the investigation is to determine whether federal officials falsified the former president's vaccination records.
During his 2019-2022 term, Mr. Bolsonaro criticized the Covid-19 vaccine and said he had no intention of getting vaccinated against the disease, which has so far killed more than 700,000 people in Brazil. Mr. Bolsonaro later admitted that he had not been vaccinated.
Last year, Brazilian federal police said they had uncovered a ring in which a top Bolsonaro aide had assigned a group of people in the health system and government to falsify vaccination certificates for the president and other officials, with the aim of helping them evade pandemic regulations and travel more easily.
Mr Bolsonaro has said he was unaware of the matter and has insisted he did not order anyone to enter false data into his vaccination records.
