Sharp decrease, some banks decrease for the 4th consecutive time

On the morning of June 5, bank interest rates continued to decrease.

According to the latest online deposit interest rate schedule, commercial banks continued to reduce interest rates on the first day of the week.

NCB continued to reduce interest rates since the beginning of the week. The reduction from 8.1% to 7.9%/year for online deposits with a term of 6-9 months. The term of 12-13 months was also slightly adjusted by NCB from 9.15% to 8.1%/year. The interest rates for terms of 15-18 months were also reduced from 8.05% to 8%/year.

Since the beginning of May, this is the fourth consecutive time NCB has adjusted savings interest rates down.

With the latest developments, the online savings interest rate at NCB for a term of 1-5 months is 5%/year; for a term of 6-9 months is 7.9%/year; for a term of 10-11 months is 7.95%/year. For a term of 12-13 months is 8.10%/year; for a term of 15-18 months is 8%/year; for a term of 24-30 months is 7.9%/year; for a term of 36 months is 7.8%/year.

Similarly, NamA Bank also announced a third reduction in deposit interest rates since the beginning of May. However, the reduction was "small", 0.1 - 0.3 percentage points for deposits with terms of 6 months or more.

Accordingly, the latest online deposit interest rate for a 6-7 month term at NamA Bank is 7.9%/year; for an 8-9 month term, it is 7.8%/year. For a 10-11 month term, it is 7.6%/year; for a 12-14 month term, it is 7.8%/year. The interest rate for terms of 15 months or more is set at 7.6%/year.

The remaining banks had no changes in interest rates on the first day of the week.

According to VietNamNet statistics from the beginning of May until now, banks that have reduced deposit interest rates include: VietA Bank, VIB, OCB, Eximbank, MSB, VPBank, TPBank, Vietcombank, Agribank, VietinBank, BIDV, KienLongBank, NamA Bank, NCB, Saigonbank, PVCombank, HDBank, OceanBank, Sacombank, Techcombank, BacA Bank, SCB, DongA Bank, VietBank, MB, SeABank, ACB, LPBank and BaoViet Bank.

Banks that reduced interest rates twice during this period are Eximbank, VPBank, BIDV, VietinBank, Vietcombank, Agribank, TPBank, BacA Bank, OCB, MSB, and Techcombank.

OCB, VietA Bank, KienLongBank, Saigonbank, NamA Bank and Sacombank have reduced deposit interest rates three times in less than a month.
