On the evening of October 27, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly organized the 2023 Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards ceremony.
This award honors outstanding young science and technology talents under the age of 35 who are studying, researching and working domestically or abroad.
Over the past 20 years, the Golden Globe Awards have attracted thousands of young talents across the country and young Vietnamese students and scientists to participate.
According to Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet, from an award in the field of information technology, the Golden Globe Award has continuously developed, becoming a place to discover and honor outstanding young scientists in key scientific fields such as biotechnology, medical technology, environmental technology, information technology, automation and digital transformation, and new material technology.
As of 2023, 204 outstanding individuals have received the award. This is a source of high-quality science and technology human resources, making important contributions to the development of science and technology as well as the socio-economic development of the country.
In 2023, the award received 69 nominations from 38 agencies, units, universities, research institutes, enterprises nationwide and the Vietnamese Embassy, Vietnamese Youth and Student Association abroad.
The Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has decided to award the 2023 Golden Globe Award to the 10 most outstanding young talents. Of these, there are 3 individuals in the fields of information technology, digital transformation and automation, 3 individuals in the field of medical and pharmaceutical technology, 2 individuals in the field of environmental technology and 2 individuals in the field of new material technology.
Each award-winning individual will receive the “Creative Youth” badge from the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, the Golden Globe Cup, a certificate and a cash prize of 20 million VND.
At the event, the Center for Science, Technology and Young Talent Development (Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union) also announced the 20 winners of the 2023 Vietnam Female Science and Technology Student Award.
This is an annual award, starting in 1997, to honor female students with outstanding academic and research achievements in a number of specific fields of science and technology. After many years of organization, the award is considered to have contributed to training a source of quality female science and technology staff to participate in the development of the country.
Each female student winning the Vietnam Female Science and Technology Award was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, an award symbol and a cash prize of 5 million VND.
