400 million VND prize for students competing to be tour guides

The opening ceremony of the city-level academic competition "Potential Tour Guide" 2024 for Ho Chi Minh City students took place on the morning of July 28 at the University of Finance and Marketing.

After the launch, nearly 300 candidates from secondary schools, colleges and universities in Ho Chi Minh City registered to take the exam, most of whom are students studying tourism and hotel and restaurant industry.

With the theme "Dare to Dazzle - Dare to shine, dare to sparkle", contestants will go through three rounds: preliminary, semi-final and final. In the preliminary round, contestants will record videos and take multiple choice tests. The 30 contestants with the highest scores will enter the semi-final round.

In the semi-finals, contestants will be tested on their presentation skills and cheerleading skills. The final round will take place on September 15, with the 10 best contestants taking part in a presentation round, knowledge competition through mystery solving and thinking skills.

Dr. Le Trung Dao - Vice Principal of the University of Finance and Marketing, head of the contest's organizing committee - said that at the contest, students have the opportunity to experience difficult challenges and come into contact with reality. From there, they will learn more knowledge and practice skills, accumulating more luggage to confidently face challenges in their future careers.

The 2024 "Potential Tour Guide" contest takes place on a city-level academic scale, with a total prize value of more than 400 million VND.

In addition to 10 main prizes - 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes, the contest also has many secondary prizes with a total value of more than 400 million VND. In particular, excellent contestants also have the opportunity to receive 5-day, 4-night tours to Bangkok (Thailand), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) ...
