Easy management, high security
According to ABB, ADAM provides comprehensive visibility and easy management of protection and control devices in the power network, enabling detailed monitoring and fault analysis through a highly secure ABB cloud platform.
The system ensures data transmission is protected by encrypted connections, single sign-on, access control based on functions and tasks, and prioritizes the protection of critical infrastructure.
With features such as configuration storage and backup, performance monitoring and software updates, ADAM provides a reliable and efficient solution for maintaining and optimizing the performance of distribution substation equipment, especially in the context of Vietnam's increasingly modernized power grid system.
ADAM seamlessly integrates with the SSC600 platform, a digital distribution substation centralized control and protection solution with comprehensive control and monitoring capabilities in just one device that ABB launched in May 2023 in the Vietnamese market, helping to optimize the grid management process. ABB emphasized that this combination not only significantly improves the stability of the grid but also optimizes operational performance, promptly meeting the urgent needs in the process of modernizing the power infrastructure.
Upgraded version will be released
ABB also shared information about the upcoming upgrade. Accordingly, ADAM AI will be integrated with artificial intelligence, providing superior fault analysis and prediction capabilities, opening a new era in power distribution management. This version is being developed to provide superior fault prediction and smart grid management capabilities.
The ADAM AI system promises to enable operators to analyze grid data more effectively, thereby promptly detecting abnormalities and proactively implementing response measures. This improvement not only increases the reliability of the power system but also contributes significantly to the realization of Vietnam's sustainable energy goals.
With advanced technology solutions such as SSC600, ADAM and the upcoming AI-integrated upgrade, ABB aims to support power companies, industrial parks, and large manufacturers to overcome the challenges of modernizing power distribution systems and integrating renewable energy sources, thereby improving efficiency and durability in operations.
Mr. Doan Van Hien, President of Power Technology Division of ABB Vietnam, shared: “In the context of Vietnam’s power grid moving towards modernization and sustainable development, innovation is the key to finding solutions to improve reliability and efficiency. ABB is committed to accompanying partners and customers in providing advanced power technology solutions, bringing sustainable development and building a stable energy future for Vietnam.”
ADAM was introduced at the workshop “Enhancing the future grid through digitalization and artificial intelligence” held last week in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The event gathered many representatives from power companies, industry, consulting, etc. This is a clear demonstration of ABB’s commitment to promoting the energy transition through innovative solutions.
