On the evening of September 19, speaking with VietNamNet, Mr. Phan Trong Trung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bong Khe Commune (Con Cuong District) said that at around 4:30 p.m., a large banyan tree branch suddenly broke from a high mountain and fell onto the Bong Abyss, National Highway 7A, along with many other branches and crushed two people on a motorbike.

Immediately after the incident, many passersby quickly shouted and helped cut tree branches, quickly bringing the two people out safely.

The motorbike had to wait for the rescue team to come to the tree before it could be taken out.

The two lucky victims who escaped were Mr. Tran CT (born in 1974) and his son Tran CD (born in 2018) on their way home in Bong Khe commune.

“Passersby promptly assisted and rescued the father and son from the scene. Fortunately, both father and son were uninjured. Just a split second away from the danger of their lives,” Mr. Trung shared.

Before the incident, there was heavy rain and strong winds in Bong Khe commune (Con Cuong district).

Rescue forces quickly arrived, cut a banyan tree branch about 40cm in diameter and cleaned up the scene.

Currently, traffic through this section has been cleared again.
