Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2024: Quang Ninh Trade Union Team Wins Championship Cup

On the afternoon of November 3, in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes to outstanding players and teams.

The 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament has been jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre newspaper over the past several months. The final match on the afternoon of November 3 took place in an exciting and dramatic atmosphere between the Sacombank Binh Duong team and the Quang Ninh Trade Union team. After tireless efforts, the Quang Ninh Trade Union football team won the championship after defeating the Sacombank Binh Duong team with a score of 4-3 in the penalty shootout.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony of the Tournament, journalist Le The Chu - Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Deputy of the Tournament Steering Committee said: In the past 2 months, 54 football teams nationwide have gone through 4 qualifying rounds in 4 regions to select the 16 best teams to enter the National Finals.

This year’s tournament has brought many new things. Firstly, the tournament has received special attention from leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, localities, departments, unions, and businesses. All aim to create a meaningful playground for workers and laborers across the country.

Second, the tournament has created a widespread influence across the country. The proof is that in the second year of organization, 41 localities have organized qualifying rounds to select typical representatives to participate in the tournament. Besides, the trade unions and enterprises have all actively prepared for the tournament.

Third, the participants of the tournament are increasingly expanding. The playground has attracted workers from the North to the South, from the highlands to the lowlands, from mechanical workers to coal workers, workers from traditional to modern industries.

Fourth, in terms of expertise, although not focusing on achievements, the tournament has attracted players who are workers with the best professional qualifications today. That has brought about an extremely attractive match.

Fifth, regarding the organization, along with the attention of leaders at all levels, the Organizing Committee and the localities sending teams to participate have taken many forms of care, taking care of the participating athletes to the maximum within their capabilities. Especially, there are supplementary activities, taking care of athletes and fans more substantially such as lucky draws, free health check-ups and consultations throughout the qualifying round to the national finals.

With the championship result, the Quang Ninh Trade Union football team was honored to receive the 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship Cup and a prize of 150 million VND.

The Organizing Committee awarded the title of Best Goalkeeper to Bui Thanh Tu (Sacombank Binh Duong); Top Scorer to Vo Hoang Phu Qui (Khanh Hoa Trade Union); Best Player to Nguyen Minh Duc (Quang Ninh Trade Union). At the same time, the Organizing Committee also awarded the title of Best Referee Team to the referee team of the final match, Hoang Manh Cuong, Le Son Tra and Vu Hoang Son.
