The Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) has announced the competition regulations for the 2024 national volleyball championship, including all the most important items such as subjects, conditions for participation; procedures, registration time; time, competition location; competition format; rules, competition costumes or funding, rewards and discipline...
There have been very important changes to the tournament format. Specifically, the 9 men's and women's teams competing in the national volleyball championship will compete in a single round-robin format , not divided into 2 groups A, B in the first stage and re-divided into groups C, D in the second stage as last season.
This year's tournament promises to be exciting.
Teams are numbered from 1 to 8 based on their performance in the most recent season, with team numbered 9 being the champion of the A division and being promoted. Each round will have 1 team that does not have to compete due to an odd number of teams, and the order of teams that do not have to compete from round 1 to round 9 has also been determined.
Phase 1 - women's content (from 16.3 - 23.3) will include matches from round 1 to round 5. The remaining 4 rounds will be held in phase 2 (from 9.11 - 17.11). The top 4 teams after the end of the group stage will enter the final round. The 5th ranked team will stay in the league and end the season, the remaining 4 teams will have to compete in the relegation round.
The two teams with the lowest scores will be relegated to the A-League next season. In addition, the scoring, ranking, home team rights and host unit obligations will be similar to those in the 2023 season. In particular, the tournament regulations also clearly state that any athlete who fails to comply with the call-up for any reason will be banned from competing in the next season.
Phase 1 - women's content took place from March 16 to March 23 at Binh Phuoc Provincial Gymnasium with the participation of 9 teams including: Ninh Binh LPBank, Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Binh Phuoc School of Information Corps, VietinBank, Geleximco Thai Binh, Quang Ninh Coal, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement and Hanoi.
In this year's tournament, for the first time VTVcab applied graphics techniques, CG technology (computer image simulation technology) to create detailed parameters about athletes and the competing team. The display of graphics of competing teams and athlete parameters is very familiar to domestic and foreign football tournaments, but this is the first time it has been applied to the live production of volleyball. All 20 matches of the tournament will be broadcast live on VTVcab's ON Sports channel, ON and ON Plus applications at 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. from March 16 to March 23.
