DNVN - Domestic gold prices on the morning of December 26 continued to record a slight increase, in line with the trend of the international market.
Domestic gold price
At 9:00 a.m., DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group announced that the price of SJC gold bars was traded at 82.5 - 84.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 200,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.
At the same time, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) also announced a similar price for SJC gold bars, with an increase of VND200,000/tael in both buying and selling prices.
Not only gold bars, the price of gold rings also has a slight increase. According to the announcement from Saigon Jewelry Company SJC, the price of gold rings is currently at 82.5 - 84.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 200,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.
Meanwhile, DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group kept the price of gold rings at 83.3 - 84.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), unchanged from the previously listed price.
International gold price
In the international market, spot gold prices on December 24 increased by 0.1% to 2,616.88 USD/ounce. US gold futures prices also increased by 0.3% to close at 2,635.50 USD/ounce.
“The current gold market trend is largely driven by a low liquidity environment,” said analyst Zain Vawda from OANDA’s MarketPulse platform.
In 2024, gold prices recorded an impressive 27% increase, marking the strongest increase since 2010.
A similar rally is possible in 2025, but will depend on geopolitical factors, according to Mr. Vawda. He said that without any unexpected geopolitical changes, gold prices could reach around $2,800 an ounce due to lingering risks and concerns about trade wars.
