Gold price drops sharply by nearly half a million VND/tael

Gold price today dropped sharply by 400,000 VND/tael. World gold price fell below the 2,000 USD/ounce mark.

World gas prices slightly decreased

Today, October 31, 2023, in the early morning (Vietnam time), gas prices decreased by 0.15%% to 3.32 USD/mmBTU for natural gas contracts for delivery in December 2023.

The European Union (EU) is considering extending the emergency gas price ceiling imposed in February amid concerns that conflict in the Middle East and a Baltic Sea pipeline incident could push prices back up this winter, according to the Financial Times.

Gas prices today are trading at $3.36/mmBTU.

Although energy prices have fallen and EU gas reserves are at record highs, this winter's supply could be affected by the conflict between Israel and Hamas, as well as problems with gas infrastructure in the Baltic Sea.

In the domestic market, according to information from a number of gas businesses, from October 1, 2023, retail gas prices will increase by VND 1,667/kg (including VAT), equivalent to an increase of VND 20,000/12kg cylinder.

The reason for this gas price increase is that the average world gas price in October 2023 was 607.5 USD/ton, an increase of 52.5 USD/ton compared to September 2023.

In addition, the high gas price was also due to the explosion at the Bandar Abbas oil refinery in southern Iran after a gas leak affected the world fuel supply, so the world oil price increased to nearly 94 USD/barrel.

Thus, since the beginning of the year, domestic gas prices have decreased 5 times (January, March, April, June and July) and increased 5 times (February, May, August, September and October).

The highest domestic coffee price is nearly 60,000 VND/kg

Domestic coffee prices updated at 4:24 a.m. on October 31, 2023 continued to be stable and unchanged compared to the most recent trading session. Currently, the average coffee price in the Central Highlands provinces is about 59,300 VND/kg, the highest purchase price is 59,500 VND/kg.

Coffee prices in the Central Highlands provinces are highest at 59,500 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces on October 31, 2023 was VND 59,400/kg; In Dak Nong province, it was purchased at VND 59,500/kg.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, is purchased at 58,700 VND/kg.

In Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province, coffee price is currently at 59,400 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 59,500 VND/kg.
