National Economics University (NEU) organized the Workshop "Internationalization of Higher Education", with speakers including the US Ambassador to Vietnam; President of Boise State University - USA, leaders of NEU and units related to training and international cooperation.
At the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Director of the Institute of International Training, National Economics University, presented: "Added value from domestic university partners: the key to success for international training cooperation programs - lessons from the IBD@NEU International Bachelor's program"; attracting the attention of domestic and foreign universities and training enterprises.
Added value from domestic university partners: the key to success for international joint training programs - lessons from the IBD@NEU International Bachelor program.
Associate Professor Dr. Le Trung Thanh believes that value-added activities need to be consistent from input, operational activities to output of the training program. In the IBD@NEU program, input includes candidate consulting and enrollment activities. Operational activities include teaching and learning processes and extracurricular activities.
The output is graduates who are evaluated by employers. The stakeholders who benefit from this process include: the two partners, the National Economics University and the foreign university, students, parents, high schools, businesses, and alumni.
Input value-added activities include consulting for candidates, high school students and admissions. IBD@NEU has organized a series of consulting activities at high schools, designed separate programs suitable for each group of students visiting the National Economics University... helping students explore, experience and better understand their suitability for careers and training programs.
When applying to IBD@NEU, candidates are interviewed by a panel consisting of teachers from high schools, business representatives, and staff and lecturers from the National Economics University. This diverse panel will provide multi-dimensional perspectives and assessments of candidates, thereby helping IBD@NEU select suitable candidates with a high probability of success upon admission.
In teaching and learning, the added value that IBD@NEU brings is the orientation focusing on learning, practical application and localization of training knowledge. Vietnamese language tutoring sessions, business tours, talks with experts and entrepreneurs help students understand business practices and expertise in Vietnam - something that students studying abroad can hardly have.
IBD@NEU students are enrolled in the Personal Mentoring program to receive 1-1 personal guidance from an expert in the student's field of study. The atmosphere of creative exploration and stimulating learning is spread through IBD@NEU activities such as student scientific research, student teaching assistants (Peer-tutor).
The added value that IBD@NEU brings is an orientation focused on learning, practical application and localization of training knowledge.
Extracurricular activities are the strength of IBD@NEU, built into a systematic system for each year with clear personal and professional development goals for each activity.
From the first to the fourth year, each year IBD@NEU students have suitable activities, ranging from professional and hobby club activities; sports events, talent competitions, art performances; academic and extracurricular orientation activities; summer and semester student exchanges with foreign partner universities...
The added value created here is a dynamic and challenging training environment, a playground for students to explore, affirm and develop their potential, and to train soft skills and positive attitudes for students.
These added values benefit all stakeholders. Over 20 years of operation, the brand of NEU and IBD@NEU’s foreign partners are widely known and trusted by parents, students, high schools and the business community.
Businesses, employers, and ISME alumni also promote their organization’s brand and develop their personal brand when participating in the program. High schools are effectively supported by IBD@NEU in career guidance activities for students.
IBD@NEU graduates also gain 5 benefits in 1 study program: updated and systematic professional knowledge, solid soft skills, creative and open thinking, fluent English and an internationally recognized university degree.
IBD@NEU is an international bachelor's program of the National Economics University with partners from universities in the UK and the US in the top 1,000 in the world. IBD@NEU is enrolling students for the fall semester of 2024 with the following majors: Business and Marketing; Digital Marketing; Business and Event Management; Business Administration (with many major options); International Business Administration; Banking and Finance; Economics and Finance.
