Mangosteen output in many localities has decreased due to crop failure and garden prices have dropped by half compared to three months ago, fluctuating between VND25,000-40,000 per kilogram.
The owner of a mangosteen garden in Binh Duong shared that this year's harvest is much worse than previous years. His 50 mangosteen trees produce less than 10 kg of fruit per day even though it is the main season, and the selling price to traders is around 30,000 VND per kg. The mangosteen crop is bad, the price has decreased, so in the past few days I have picked them and brought them to the retail market to sell at a higher price.

Similarly, the mangosteen garden of nearly 100 trees of a family in Ba Ria - Vung Tau also produced 7-8 times less fruit than last year. Each tree last year produced 20-30 kg of fruit, but now only a few kg, many trees even have no fruit at all. Instead of selling to traders, the family sells online for 110,000 VND per 3 kg.
In other localities such as Hau Giang and Can Tho, gardeners said the mangosteen harvest has decreased by 30-50% compared to the same period last year. Hot weather and lack of water have seriously affected the quality and yield of the fruit, according to management agencies. Supply is low but the selling price at the garden is very low, about 25,000-40,000 VND per kg. This level is half that of 3 months ago and about 10% lower than the same period last year.
A Vietnamese mangosteen trader said that the erratic weather has caused low fruit set and prices to drop because the quality of the fruit is worse than usual. Meanwhile, Thai goods are being imported in large quantities, forcing traders to sell Vietnamese mangosteens at a cheaper price to compete.
At online agricultural wholesale channels in Ho Chi Minh City, each kilogram of Vietnamese mangosteen is sold by wholesalers at VND40,000 for large ones and VND27,000-28,000 for small ones. This price is about VND10,000 per kilogram cheaper than Thai goods. At retail markets, the price of Lai Thieu mangosteen (Binh Duong) fluctuates at VND55,000-60,000 per kilogram, 30% lower than the beginning of the season in April and the same period last year.
The leader of Thu Duc agricultural wholesale market (Ho Chi Minh City) said that Thai goods still account for the majority of the market, with wholesale prices ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 VND per kilogram depending on the type. Meanwhile, Vietnamese mangosteens are in short supply, with most gardeners or traders delivering directly to customers instead of selling through the market.

Plump, beautiful pineapples are harvested, placed on baskets and carried by people to Muong Xen town.
According to the Department of Agriculture of Ky Son district: The whole district currently has nearly 200 hectares of pineapple trees, concentrated in highland communes such as Huoi Tu, Muong Long, Tay Son, Nam Can and the surrounding area of Muong Xen town, with a yield of 10 to 12 quintals/ha.
