At the end of April 2024, the price of grade 1 red-fleshed dragon fruit in Chau Thanh district fluctuated between 42,000 - 43,000 VND/kg, but now it is only 15,000 - 20,000 VND/kg. With the same red flesh, grade 2 and grade 3 were from 30,000 - 37,000 VND/kg, now down to 5,000 - 9,000 VND/kg. For white-fleshed dragon fruit, it remains at 11,000 - 13,000 VND/kg, a very small decrease compared to red-fleshed dragon fruit.
Not only is the price of dragon fruit low, it is also very difficult for gardeners to invite traders to their gardens to buy dragon fruit.
According to farmers in Hiep Thanh commune, Chau Thanh district, the price of red-fleshed dragon fruit has dropped sharply due to increased supply as it is entering the peak harvest season.
Farmers living in Hamlet 9, Hiep Thanh Commune said they have 3 hectares of red-fleshed dragon fruit and will be harvesting the fruit in a week. In the Southwest and Southeast markets, durian purchase prices are similar. Beautifully selected Thai durian continues to hold the highest price, ranging from 103,000 VND/kg to 106,000 VND/kg. The price of Thai durian purchased in bulk is stable at 83,000 - 86,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, beautifully selected Ri6 durian is priced from 57,000 VND/kg to 62,000 VND/kg. And Ri6 durian purchased in bulk is listed at the lowest price, from 47,000 VND/kg to 48,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands, the price of selected Thai durian and Thai durian bought in bulk also leads in price. Specifically, selected Thai durian ranges from 100,000 VND/kg to 103,000 VND/kg and Thai durian bought in bulk costs from 80,000 VND/kg to 82,000 VND/kg. For Ri6 durian, the selected type is listed from 60,000 VND/kg to 63,000 VND/kg, while the type bought in bulk costs from 45,000 VND/kg to 50,000 VND/kg.

Now that the price of coconut has increased again, people are excited. 2 days ago, they harvested 8,000 m2 of coconut land with a yield of more than 1,000 coconuts, selling for 110,000 VND/dozen (excluding the cost of picking and collecting), while last month they sold for only 75,000 VND/dozen.
According to coconut buyers, the high price of coconut is mainly due to the decrease in coconut production due to the previous drought and salinity. In addition, the current situation of increased production demand from factories has caused companies to focus on purchasing, causing prices to increase.
Depending on the region, the quality of coconuts has different prices. In high-quality areas such as Chau Binh and Chau Hoa communes (Giong Trom), and the southern communes of Mo Cay Nam district, raw coconuts cost from 110,000 to 120,000 VND/dozen (excluding harvesting costs), while in other regions, the price is lower from 10,000 to 20,000 VND/dozen.

The Indonesian jackfruit growing model was implemented on the hilly land of An My village, Cam Tuyen commune. There were 12 households participating with an area of 2 hectares, each hectare planted an average of 300 trees. This is a model with large-scale and systematic investment from land preparation, planting to irrigation system. After 2 years of planting, the trees grew very well, had few pests and diseases and started to produce a lot of fruit.
Currently, jackfruit has reached harvest time, with an average weight of about 10 kg/fruit, large fruits up to 15 kg. With a market price of 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg, each tree earns an average of more than 1 million VND, each hectare about 300 million VND.
Currently, the consumer market for this type of jackfruit is mainly at local markets so the selling price is not high.
