Agricultural product prices on March 3, 2025: Coffee and pepper continue to maintain high levels

DNVN - Domestic coffee prices on March 3, 2025 have not been adjusted compared to the previous trading session, currently the average purchase price in localities is 129,500 VND/kg. Pepper prices continue to remain the same as yesterday and remain at a high level. The average pepper price in key areas is currently 158,000 VND/kg.

Coffee does not fluctuate

Agricultural product prices on March 1, 2025: Pepper and coffee both decreased slightly

On the London floor, at 5:00 a.m. on March 3, 2025, Robusta coffee prices remained unchanged from the previous session, ranging from 5,105 to 5,425 USD/ton. Specifically, the price for delivery in May 2025 was 5,330 USD/ton, the price for July 2025 was 5,290 USD/ton, the September 2025 term was traded at 5,228 USD/ton, and the price for November 2025 was 5,141 USD/ton.

At the New York Stock Exchange, Arabica coffee prices closed with little fluctuation, remaining stable compared to the previous day, with terms fluctuating between 342.00 - 379.05 cents/lb. Specifically, the price for delivery in May 2025 was 373.05 cents/lb, the price for delivery in July 2025 was 364.75 cents/lb, while the price for delivery in September 2025 was 356.00 cents/lb and that for December 2025 was 344.50 cents/lb.

At the close of the morning session on March 3, the price of Brazilian Arabica coffee fluctuated slightly between trading terms, ranging from 445.00 - 464.00 USD/ton. Specifically, the price for delivery in March 2025 decreased to 461.25 USD/ton (down 2.25 USD/ton), the price for delivery in May 2025 reached 465.00 USD/ton (up 3.10 USD/ton), the price for delivery in July 2025 closed at 457.95 USD/ton, while the price for delivery in September 2025 decreased to 445.00 USD/ton.

Updated domestic coffee prices at 5:00 a.m. on March 3, 2025, the market remains stable, unchanged from yesterday. Currently, the average purchase price is 129,500 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee price in Dak Lak is being traded at 129,500 VND/kg, while Lam Dong recorded a purchase price of 127,500 VND/kg. In Gia Lai and Dak Nong, the coffee price today reached 129,500 VND/kg.

After a 6-week increase, coffee prices in the Central Highlands last week fell sharply, with an adjustment of 4,500 to 5,300 VND/kg compared to last week, currently fluctuating between 127,500 - 129,500 VND/kg.

Notably, coffee prices in Lam Dong had the deepest decrease, falling by VND5,300/kg last week.

In Dak Nong, Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces, coffee prices also decreased by 4,500 VND/kg, currently being purchased at 129,500 VND/kg.

According to experts, in the near future, coffee prices are likely to continue to decrease due to high supply pressure. The latest forecasts show that Robusta prices may decrease by another 100-150 USD/ton if buying power does not return soon.

Pepper prices remain high

Today's pepper price was updated at 5:00 a.m. on March 3, 2025. The domestic pepper market has not changed compared to the previous session, remaining at a high level. Currently, the average pepper purchase price in key areas is 158,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper prices in Gia Lai province remained stable, unchanged from the previous day, currently being purchased by traders at 157,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province are also being traded at 157,000 VND/kg.

In Binh Phuoc province, pepper prices have not fluctuated much after a sharp increase earlier, currently remaining at 158,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak and Dak Nong, the pepper market continues to maintain a high level, without any adjustment, the purchasing price in these two localities is currently at 159,000 VND/kg.

According to an update from the International Pepper Community (IPC) at 5:00 a.m. on March 3, 2025, the world pepper market continued to stabilize, maintaining a high level after the previous volatile session.

Specifically, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper is currently trading at 7,235 USD/ton, while Muntok white pepper is being purchased at 9,959 USD/ton.

In Malaysia, pepper prices have remained high after a strong increase. Currently, Malaysian ASTA black pepper is trading at $9,700/ton, while ASTA white pepper is at $12,200/ton.

In the Brazilian market, pepper prices after the previous slight increase also tended to stabilize, with the current purchase price reaching 6,850 USD/ton.

Vietnam's pepper export prices continue to remain stable but tend to decrease slightly. Specifically, Vietnam's black pepper exports are being traded at 6,900 USD/ton for the 500 g/l type, while the 550 g/l type is at 7,100 USD/ton. White pepper exports are currently priced at 9,900 USD/ton.

Overall, last week, pepper prices in key domestic production areas decreased by 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, black pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong recorded a decrease of VND3,000/kg compared to last week. In Binh Phuoc, pepper prices last week decreased by VND2,000/kg. In localities such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Gia Lai, pepper prices also decreased by VND3,000/kg, currently at VND157,000/kg.

Thus, pepper prices have turned down after 3 consecutive weeks of increase since the Lunar New Year holiday. The main reason is believed to be that new crop supplies are gradually being introduced to the market.
