DNVN – Recently, a fake decision of the Health Department of Long An and Ben Tre provinces to inspect food businesses appeared on the internet with the aim of defrauding. The authorities quickly investigated and clarified the matter.
On September 29, according to information from the Director of the Long An Provincial Department of Health, Mr. Huynh Minh Phuc, a fake decision of the Long An Provincial Department of Health appeared on the cyberspace. To clarify, the police are investigating and handling it according to the provisions of the law.
Decision to forge Long An Department of Health.
The fake decision on “Establishing an inspection team to supervise food production and trading establishments in the province” has the following content: through the inspection work to evaluate the direction, urging, inspection, and organization of the implementation of regulations on the supervision of food production and trading establishments managed by the health sector in the province; promptly correct shortcomings, limitations, and problems; clarify specific causes and responsibilities, and recommend handling measures to improve the effectiveness of food safety assurance.
The forged decision has a red seal, signature and name of Huynh Minh Phuc – Deputy Director of Long An Provincial Department of Health. In fact, Mr. Huynh Minh Phuc is holding the position of Director of Long An Provincial Department of Health, not as stated in the information of the forged decision.
Mr. Huynh Minh Phuc affirmed that the decision on “Establishing a team to inspect and supervise food production and trading establishments in the province” appearing on cyberspace is fake, and people need to be vigilant. At the same time, note that all documents of state agencies have the date, month, and year of issuance. Criminals deliberately do not include the date, month, and year of issuance in the document for the purpose of long-term use.
After Long An, Ben Tre province also faced a similar situation. In recent days, a number of food service establishments unexpectedly received fake notices from the Ben Tre Department of Health about inspection and supervision of food production and trading activities in the area.
Decision to forge Ben Tre Department of Health.
The Department of Health of Ben Tre province shared that some scammers used high-tech methods to call owners of food service establishments and asked to be friends via social networks to inform them that an inspection team from the Department of Health of Ben Tre province would inspect and monitor the activities of these establishments related to food hygiene and safety.
The method of these subjects is to make friends through the Zalo application, in addition to sending some documents impersonating the Department of Health to businesses such as decisions and announcements of the Department of Health on the establishment of an Inspection and Supervision Team for food production and business establishments in the province. To create more trust as well as intimidation, the subjects take samples of similar forms of documents from state agencies to cut and paste and send to businesses.
People need to be vigilant against scams.
This is a trick of using social networks to impersonate authorities to cause panic and fear in order to ask business owners to transfer money to the subjects and then appropriate it.
The Ben Tre Provincial Department of Health recommends that people be cautious of scams using fake decisions and notices. If you receive a notice with the above content, you should contact the nearest police station for instructions on how to handle it.
In addition, Long An Department of Health also recommends that when people discover someone using fake decisions to inspect business establishments, they should immediately report to the nearest police agency, or call the Long An Department of Health hotline 0967921414 for handling.
