Pig price today 10/7
* Pig prices in the North decreased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg in many localities.
Specifically, live pigs in Bac Giang province were traded at 53,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.
The remaining localities simultaneously reduced by 2,000 VND/kg to between 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.
Today's live pig price in the North is around 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.
* The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions decreased by 1,000 VND/kg.
Of which, Dak Lak province adjusted down 1,000 VND/kg to 51,000 VND/kg.
Except for the three provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Ninh Thuan, which remained unchanged, other localities also decreased by VND1,000/kg to around VND52,000 - 53,000/kg.
Currently, the purchase price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.
* According to a survey, the price of live pigs in the South decreased by 1,000 VND/kg.
51,000 VND/kg is the transaction price recorded in Kien Giang after a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg.
After a decrease of VND1,000/kg, localities including Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh and Hau Giang all traded at VND52,000/kg.
Traders in localities including Dong Nai, Vung Tau, Long An, Dong Thap and Tien Giang reduced the price by VND1,000/kg to VND53,000/kg.
The price of live pigs in the Southern region today is between 50,000 - 54,000 VND/kg.
* According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in August 2023, Vietnam imported 62.53 thousand tons of meat and meat products, worth 128.72 million USD, up 3.6% in volume, but down 0.7% in value compared to August 2022.
In the first 8 months of 2023, Vietnam imported 418,93 thousand tons of meat and meat products, worth 851.76 million USD, up 1.9% in volume, but down 7.3% in value compared to the same period in 2022.
In August 2023, Vietnam imported 12.19 thousand tons of fresh chilled or frozen pork, worth 30.49 million USD, up 29.2% in volume and 55.6% in value compared to August 2022. This is the fourth consecutive month since the beginning of 2023 that the amount of imported pork has increased compared to the same period in 2022.
The average import price of pork to Vietnam reached 2,502 USD/ton, up 20.4% compared to August 2022. In the first 8 months of 2023, the import of fresh, chilled or frozen pork reached 66.95 thousand tons, worth 173.11 million USD, up 3.2% in volume and 25.7% in value compared to the same period in 2022.
In August 2023, fresh chilled or frozen pork was imported from 19 markets, mainly from Brazil, accounting for 51.96% of the country's total pork imports; followed by Russia, accounting for 23.31%; the United States, accounting for 4.61%; Canada, accounting for 4.45%; Denmark, accounting for 4.08%...
The amount of pork imported from these markets to Vietnam in August 2023 all increased sharply compared to the same period in 2022.
In the first 8 months of 2023, the market structure supplying pork to Vietnam changed, as the proportion of imports from Russia and the United States increased; while the proportion of imports from Brazil, Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands decreased.
