During the changing seasons, Lao Cai province has actively implemented measures to protect livestock. The province currently has a total herd of nearly 625,000 cattle and over 5 million poultry. According to Lao Cai Radio and Television, since the beginning of the year, localities in the province have administered more than 2 million doses of vaccine to livestock.

In addition to common diseases during the changing seasons in livestock and poultry, dangerous epidemics such as African swine fever, avian influenza and lumpy skin disease are also at high risk of outbreak.

Authorities and localities in Lao Cai province have stepped up propaganda work so that livestock farmers can proactively prevent epidemics and comply with biosafety measures.

Mr. Ngo Tien Dung, Head of the Disease Management Department of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Lao Cai province, recommends that during the transitional season, farmers should increase nutrition, add vitamins and protein to their diets to improve the resistance of livestock and poultry.

In particular, at this time, strict adherence to disease prevention procedures is very important. When detecting signs of disease in livestock and poultry, it is necessary to immediately notify veterinary staff and local authorities for timely handling, limiting the risk of disease spreading.
