* Pig prices in the Northern region increased by 1,000-3,000 VND/kg.
Of which, Yen Bai and Nam Dinh provinces both purchased live pigs at 58,000 VND/kg after increasing by 1,000 VND/kg.
With the same increase, live pigs in the two provinces of Bac Giang and Tuyen Quang were traded at 59,000 VND/kg.
After increasing the price, localities including Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen and Hanoi all purchased at 60,000 VND/kg - equal to Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc after increasing by 2,000 VND/kg. Thai Binh province increased by 3,000 VND to 62,000 VND/kg - the highest in the region.
Today's live pig price in the North is around 58,000-62,000 VND/kg.
* The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions decreased sporadically.
Accordingly, Thanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces both reduced 1,000 VND/kg to 58,000 VND/kg.
The remaining localities continue to purchase live pigs at prices ranging from VND 56,000/kg to VND 58,000/kg.
Currently, the purchase price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 56,000-58,000 VND/kg.
* Pig prices in the South fluctuated by 1,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, after increasing the price, live pigs in Can Tho were purchased at 59,000 VND/kg - equal to Dong Nai province after decreasing by 1,000 VND/kg.
58,000 VND/kg is the purchase price recorded in Dong Thap province after an increase of 1,000 VND/kg.
At the same time of the survey, Vinh Long province adjusted the price up to 57,000 VND/kg - equal to Bac Lieu province after reducing the price.
The price of live pigs in the Southern region today is around 57,000-60,000 VND/kg.
* According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, in the province, 6/8 district-level localities, 11/82 commune-level localities and 120 farms, accounting for 85% of the total number of farms in the province, have been certified by veterinary agencies at all levels as animal disease-safe facilities and areas.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is also implementing a project on value-added chain linkage and food safety in livestock farming in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
The goal is to form 19 value-added and food safety chains in livestock farming (including 8 pig farming chains, 8 poultry farming chains and 3 poultry egg chains).
Thereby, ensuring that 75% of livestock products supplied to the market in the province are produced according to the value-added and food safety chain, with a scale of 396 thousand pigs, 6.3 million poultry and 420 thousand egg-laying poultry.
