* The pig market in the North has not recorded any new changes in price.
Accordingly, traders in Hung Yen, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang continue to buy live pigs at the highest price in the region of 52,000 VND/kg.
The remaining provinces in the region traded stably at around 50,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.
Today's live pig price in the North is around 50,000 - 52,000 VND/kg.
* Pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions decreased by 1,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, Dak Lak province was adjusted down by 1,000 VND/kg to the lowest level of 48,000 VND/kg.
Other provinces have no new adjustments.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 48,000 - 50,000 VND/kg.
* In the Southern region, the price of live pigs decreased by 1,000 VND/kg in some places.
Specifically, Ca Mau and Tien Giang adjusted the price of live pigs to 51,000 VND/kg and 49,000 VND/kg, respectively.
The remaining provinces and cities have pork prices unchanged compared to yesterday.
The price of live pigs in the Southern region today fluctuates between 49,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.
* According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam's imports of meat and meat products increased in the first 11 months of 2023. Currently, the supply and prices of meat and meat products remain basically stable, while demand is slow.
In the first 11 months of 2023, Vietnam imported 652,150 tons of meat and meat products, worth 1.3 billion USD, up 6.1% in volume, but down 3.8% in value compared to the same period in 2022.
In the 11 months of 2023, Vietnam imported 105 thousand tons of pork, worth 262.36 million USD, up 4.1% in volume and 21.6% in value over the same period in 2022. Pork was imported from 30 markets around the world.
Russia, Brazil, Germany, Spain and Canada are the five largest markets supplying pork to Vietnam; except for Russia, pork imports from these markets all decreased compared to the same period in 2022.
In the first 11 months of 2023, Russia was the largest market supplying pork to Vietnam with 43.05 thousand tons, worth 120.56 million USD, up 80% in volume and 95.2% in value over the same period in 2022.
In the coming days, demand for meat and meat products is expected to increase due to high demand for food during the Tet holiday.
However, because Vietnam's meat supply is quite abundant, basically meeting domestic consumption demand, it is forecasted that imports of meat and meat products will not increase dramatically in the near future.
