*Pig price in the Central Highlands region
Pig prices in the Central Highlands provinces currently fluctuate between 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

*Worldwide production and consumption are expected to decline by less than 1% in 2025
World pork production in 2025 is expected to decline by 0.8% to 115.1 million tonnes, as production declines in China and the European Union will exceed growth in the United States, Vietnam and Brazil.
Vietnam’s pork output is expected to increase by 3% to 3.8 million tonnes on the back of an expected expansion of the pig herd as the industry consolidates and African swine fever (ASF) control improves.
Output in Brazil is estimated to increase by 1.2% to 4.6 million tonnes, supported by strong export demand and lower input costs.
Although pork industry profitability in China has improved in 2024, production is expected to decline by 2.2% in 2025 to 55.5 million tonnes. The reduction in sow numbers in 2024 will reduce the number of pigs slaughtered in 2025. In addition, pork demand in China is forecast to remain weak, due to economic uncertainty and the increasing shift to poultry meat consumption.
European Union pork production is expected to fall by 1.6% in 2025 to 20.9 million tonnes due to falling pork prices.
Global pork exports are expected to increase by 1% to 10.4 million tonnes in 2025, as growth in exports from the US and Canada offset a decline in exports from the EU.
Canadian exports are estimated to increase by 0.7% to 1.5 million tonnes, thanks to steady demand from the US and continued growth in several Asian markets, including Japan and South Korea.
EU exports are forecast to fall 1.7% to 2.95 million tonnes, as export supplies fall and trade restrictions related to African swine fever (ASF) remain in place.
