*Pig price in the Northern region
Today, the price of live pigs in the North decreased in Hanoi, Hung Yen and Hai Duong, all at 62,000 VND/kg. Also recording this decrease, Yen Bai, Ha Nam and Nam Dinh provinces purchased live pigs at 61,000 VND/kg.
Thai Nguyen is the only locality keeping transactions at 63,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.
*Pig price in the Central Highlands region
The Central Highlands region saw the same decrease in Quang Binh and Binh Dinh, both at 60,000 VND/kg.
Notably, also adjusted down by 1,000 VND/kg, Dak Lak is currently the only province in the country buying and selling live pigs at 59,000 VND/kg. Live pig prices in the remaining localities in the region fluctuate from 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.
* Pig price in the Southern region
Fluctuating in opposite directions to the two above regions, the price of live pigs in the South increased in Bac Lieu and Soc Trang, reaching 62,000 VND/kg and 63,000 VND/kg, respectively.
The remaining provinces and cities in the region kept prices stable at around 61,000 - 63,000 VND/kg. Of which, Binh Phuoc, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City are selling live pigs at 61,000 VND/kg.
*Over 70% of communes, wards and towns in Bac Kan have announced the end of African swine fever.
According to the Bac Kan Provincial Portal , from the beginning of the year to November 20, Bac Kan province had over 4,000 livestock households in 719 villages, 102 communes in 8 districts and cities with African swine fever, nearly 20,000 pigs died and were destroyed with a volume of over 750.4 tons.
Currently, the African swine fever situation in the province is showing signs of slowing down. Many localities have done a good job of preventing and controlling the disease. As of November 21, the whole province had 75/102 communes, wards and towns declared the end of the epidemic, 12 communes had gone through 21 days without the epidemic, 15 communes had not gone through 21 days without the epidemic.
Of which, Cho Don district and Bac Kan city have declared the end of the epidemic for 100% of the communes, wards and towns with the epidemic. Na Ri district has declared the end of the epidemic for 15/17 communes and towns with the epidemic, with one commune having passed 21 days and one commune having not passed 21 days.
Cho Moi district has declared the end of the epidemic for 13 communes and towns, only Quang Chu commune has not passed 21 days. Bach Thong district has declared the end of the epidemic for 8 communes and towns, 6 communes have passed 21 days without detecting any new outbreaks.
In addition, on November 24, Mr. Tran Oanh Tuan, Head of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Chu Pah district (Gia Lai province) said that regarding the number of project pigs allocated to poor and near-poor households in Ia Ly town that died due to African swine fever, the functional units are currently considering re-issuing breeding pigs to affected households.
Accordingly, the district is developing a plan with the people and pig breeding suppliers in the spirit of the state and people working together to re-distribute pig breeding to the people as soon as possible.
