According to the Ministry of Health's announcement on the Covid-19 epidemic, today, the country recorded 2,013 new Covid-19 cases. Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had more than 11.59 million cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. With a rate of 117,172 Covid-19 cases/million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories.
Today, May 16, the country recorded 2,013 more Covid-19 cases
Health departments reported that on June 15, 275 patients in provinces and cities recovered from the disease, with no deaths recorded due to Covid-19. Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 10.63 million Covid-19 patients in Vietnam have been cured.
At treatment facilities, 81 patients are breathing oxygen. Of these, 73 cases are breathing oxygen via mask; 3 cases are breathing high-flow oxygen HFNC; 1 case is on non-invasive ventilation; 4 cases are on invasive ventilation.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam since the beginning of the epidemic is 43,201 cases, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 territories. The number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories.
Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th out of 50 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 29th out of 50 countries and territories.
Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the Ministry of Health said that on May 15, 4,867 more doses were administered. Since the beginning of the campaign, more than 266.34 million doses have been administered to people nationwide. Of these, nearly 223.964 million doses have been administered to people aged 18 and over; nearly 24 million doses have been administered to people aged 12-17; and more than 18.68 million doses have been administered to people aged 5-11.
