Meet the official who donated land for road construction.

Mr. Do Xuan Nhan, Party Secretary and Head of the Fatherland Front Committee of Phuc Trung village, Ninh Phuc commune ( Ninh Binh city), is highly regarded by the people as a dedicated official who wholeheartedly devotes himself to the common good of the locality.

Ninh Binh province recently held a ceremony to honor 65 outstanding individuals who have excelled in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh during the period 2014-2024. Mr. Do Xuan Nhan was honored as one of the 65 exemplary individuals; he was also one of two Party branch secretaries and heads of the Fatherland Front Committee throughout the province to be recognized at this event.

Mr. Nhan has held the position of Party Branch Secretary and Head of the Fatherland Front Committee since 2001, a role he has served for nearly 23 years. “In the past, the streets here were dirt roads, the population was sparse, and people were poor. After nearly 20 years of reform and development, the neighborhood now looks much more spacious and attractive, and the number of people living here is increasing,” Mr. Nhan recalled.

To achieve the model new rural village status it has today, Mr. Nhan believes that the unity of the people is the most important factor. “As a grassroots official, the most important thing is to gain the trust and respect of the people. When the neighborhood was building the new rural area in 2019, the most difficult task was persuading people to donate land to open roads. Encouraged by my wife, I took the lead in donating 120 square meters of land and 40 square meters of my family's wall. From then on, everyone looked at me and followed suit,” Mr. Nhan confided.

In a short time, all 136 households living along Ninh Ton road agreed, each donating a small amount of land, totaling 5,440 square meters, to widen the road from 5 meters to 9 meters. When the road was completed, everyone was happy because the 1.5-kilometer-long road now led to each house, making travel much smoother than before.

According to Mr. Dien Van Duc (residing in Phuc Trung village), Mr. Nhan is a person who always leads by example, pioneering in difficult tasks, and is loved and wholeheartedly supported by the villagers. Mr. Nhan is present at every village ceremony, funeral, or other event. Every family with a funeral asks Mr. Nhan to write and read the eulogy. As the Party branch secretary and head of the Fatherland Front Committee, he is very close to the people, understands their needs, and does everything they require.

According to Mr. Vu Van Vuong, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Phuc commune, the Party cell of Phuc Trung village is consistently rated as having excellently completed its tasks every year. “During the period from 2015 to 2024, Mr. Do Xuan Nhan was honored with many commendations and certificates of merit from the grassroots to the central level, including a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in 2022 for his outstanding achievements in the New Rural Development movement and in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh,” Mr. Vuong said.
