In the new house that still smells of lime and mortar, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Hong Trung village, Hong Phong commune, Bac Binh district, who is paralyzed on one side, sits on a bed littered with pillows, mosquito nets, and blankets. Most of these items, including the house, were donated by the Provincial Border Guard Command (BĐBP), the Military Bank, Binh Thuan branch (MB), and the local government. Previously, he lived in a dilapidated house that was empty in the front and open in the back, with no valuable items. Hoa Thang Border Guard Station coordinated with the local government to rebuild the house and provide him with additional items, worth 150 million VND. Of which, 50 million VND was proposed by the Border Guard Station to the Provincial Border Guard Command and MB for support, 15 million VND was from the local government, and the rest was from his family.

The house was built with the support of officers and soldiers of Hoa Thang Border Guard Station and members of Hong Phong Commune Youth Union, which reduced the cost. Mr. Minh happily said that he felt fortunate to have Hoa Thang Border Guard Station in particular, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the MB and the local government in general build this house for him, so he was very happy and touched. Before that, his life was very difficult, the house was often exposed to the sun, rain and leaks, making it difficult to sleep.

According to Hoa Thang Border Guard Station, Mr. Minh's case is not the only one in the two heroic communes of Hong Phong and Hoa Thang that the provincial Border Guard has supported in building solidarity houses in recent years, but there are many other cases.

In addition to taking care of the poor, Hoa Thang Border Guard Station also does many other meaningful and practical things. Every year, when Tet comes, the program "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the army and people - Tet Charity" is organized, giving gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and families with meritorious services. Regularly maintaining models and programs "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station", "Border Guard Piggy Bank", "100 Dong House" using the savings of officers and soldiers and from the unit's increased production. Including the model "Charity Rice Jar" supporting 10kg of rice/household/month for 2 poor households in 2 communes... Awarding many scholarships and gifts to poor students with good academic performance and victims of Agent Orange in the commune.

In addition, the Station also coordinates with the Bac Binh District Youth Union, the Commune Youth Unions of Hoa Thang and Hong Phong communes to clean the marine environment, plant more trees, and propagate to the people to limit the use of plastic bags and protect the environment. Coordinate with local departments, branches and organizations to propagate and disseminate legal education such as "Vietnam Border Law", "Vietnam Sea Law" ... for cadres and people.

Since the beginning of 2024 alone, nearly 580 teachers, youth union members and students have been educated to raise awareness about the sea and islands. 200 national flags have been presented to fishermen to demonstrate sovereignty over the sea and islands. Coordinated with relevant forces to patrol, control and maintain security and order in the area... Arrested and prosecuted 1 case of illegal possession of drugs; administratively sanctioned 5 cases/8 subjects related to the environment, social order and safety...

The connection between the Party and the people, between the army and the people helps localities effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. It creates trust in the people in the words and actions of local Party committees and authorities, and stands side by side with the Border Guard to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
