(Dan Tri) - The "golden land" of the old Dak Lak General Hospital headquarters was auctioned 4 years ago but no one bought it. Up to now, this headquarters continues to be auctioned with a starting price of 566 billion VND.
On December 24, Mr. Le Danh Thang, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Finance, said that the unit is auctioning assets on land and transferring land use rights at No. 2 Mai Hac De (Tan Thanh Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City).
This is the headquarters area of Dak Lak Provincial General Hospital (old) with an area of over 42,600m2, located in the center of Buon Ma Thuot city.

The Dak Lak Province Property Auction Service Center has announced the auction of this "golden land" with a starting price of over VND566 billion to invest in the Trade Center - Hotel - Housing Complex project. Of which, the value of land use rights is over VND513 billion and the value of assets attached to the land (hospital buildings) is over VND53 billion.
The auction will be held on January 13, 2025.
The Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Finance informed that in 2020, the area of the headquarters of the Dak Lak General Hospital (old) was announced to be auctioned with a starting price of more than 533 billion VND (of which, more than 460 billion VND was land use value and more than 72 billion VND was assets attached to the land). However, at this time, no investors participated in the auction.

To protect the remaining assets inside, for many years, the Dak Lak Department of Finance had to contract with a company to hire security guards to protect the remaining assets, waiting until this land lot was successfully sold.
Mr. Le Danh Thang stated that after 4 years, the value of assets on the land of the headquarters of Dak Lak General Hospital (old) has decreased due to depreciation over time, but the land use value has increased, leading to a starting auction price higher than 33 billion VND.
According to Mr. Thang, the 1/500 planning of the Dak Lak General Hospital area (old) will implement the Commercial Center - Hotel - Housing Complex project. Of which, there are about 5,000m2 for social housing investment and about 1.2ha of land for infrastructure (the investor builds roads, electricity, trees...) that do not have to be auctioned.

Talking about the reason why it has been difficult to sell "golden land" for many years, the deputy director of the Dak Lak Department of Finance admitted that due to the large value of assets on the land, investors are quite hesitant when having to spend tens of billions of dong to buy, and when implementing the project, they have to demolish it themselves and the demolition cost is not small. However, according to regulations, assets on the land must still be sold.
Previously, in early 2019, Dak Lak Provincial General Hospital was officially relocated to a new headquarters in Tu An Ward (Buon Ma Thuot City), about 5km from the old headquarters. At this time, the hospital was renamed the Central Highlands General Hospital.
Since then, the old hospital has been abandoned, overgrown with weeds and dirt, making many people feel sorry for the "golden land" that is not being used, causing waste.
