The Korean National Volleyball Championship (VQG) is one of the most important professional volleyball tournaments in Korea, organized annually by the Korea Volleyball Association (KOVO) since 2005.
After more than 20 seasons, this tournament is a prestigious competition place for men's and women's volleyball clubs in this country.
With the increasing presence of outstanding athletes in the region as well as the world, the attraction of the tournament in general and the tournament for women's teams in particular has spread to neighboring countries, including Vietnam. In response to the expectations of fans, FPT Play officially has the exclusive rights to broadcast matches of the 2024/25 Korean Women's Volleyball Championship from February 13.
The series of matches that decide the throne
To date, the 2024/25 season of the women's teams has gone through 95/126 matches and is in its most intense stage. Similar to previous seasons, the 2024/25 Korean Women's Volleyball Championship will take place in a home-away round-robin format, taking place in 6 rounds "across the year" from October 2024 to April 2025. The team with the highest score after the group stage will go straight to the final, while the teams ranked below will participate in the play-off round to win a place in the final.

This year, the tournament has the same number of participating clubs as 7 teams, including: Daejeon Jungkwanjang Red Sparks, Hwaseong IBK Altos, Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders, Gimcheon Korea Expressway Hi-Pass, GS Caltex Seoul KIXX, Gwangju Pepper Savings Bank AI PEPPERS and Suwon Hyundai E&C Hillstate.
As of now, the runner-up Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders are holding the top spot with 43 points. The “Pink Spiders” team has only stumbled 4 times, winning a total of 15 matches. This achievement is even higher than the defending champion Suwon Hyundai E&C Hillstate. Meanwhile, the two adjacent teams, Daejeon Jungkwanjang Red Sparks and Hwaseong IBK Altos, are close with not too different scores.

It is difficult to predict the outcome because recently, Hwaseong IBK Altos also lost to the 7th ranked team GS Caltex Seoul KIXX in a dramatic match. In the coming days, the wind may change direction and surprises may happen.
The attraction of middle blocker Bich Thuy
The 2024/25 Korean Women's Volleyball Championship has become even more special to Vietnamese fans because of the appearance of a female middle blocker from Duc Giang Chemical Club: Tran Thi Bich Thuy. She joined GS Caltex Seoul KIXX with a short-term contract, lasting until the end of the season. It is known that this is the second foreign team in Bich Thuy's career, after Air Force (Thailand).

Since her arrival, Caltex Seoul KIXX has transformed, winning 4 of the last 8 matches. The recent victory over Hwaseong IBK Altos on February 8 also had a strong impression of the Hanoi-born middle blocker with 9 points scored after 3 sets. Not only effective in attack, Bich Thuy also showed impressive defensive ability, contributing to the 3-0 victory.
GS Caltex Seoul KIXX is a successful team in Korean women's volleyball, having won the domestic championship 12 times, most recently in the 2020-2021 season. This team has also won the KOVO Cup 6 times, and was crowned the Asian Club Championship in 1999.

On this year's rankings, although GS Caltex Seoul KIXX has not shown its full strength. However, this team is still constantly chasing and showing ambition to compete with strong opponents. If it maintains its current performance, it is very likely that Bich Thuy will be retained by GS Caltex Seoul KIXX or called up to the Vietnam national team to prepare for the world championship in September and the 33rd SEA Games in December.
