Erling Haaland shares his feelings after being named PFA Player of the Year

Man City striker Erling Haaland has been named the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Year, following a record-breaking season.

With Man City winning a historic treble, Erling Haaland has taken English football by storm in his first year, scoring 52 goals in just 51 appearances.

In the 2022/23 Premier League season, the Norwegian striker scored 36 goals in 35 matches (a new record) which made him receive a high consensus in the votes of his colleagues to win the title of best player of the year from the PFA.

Erling Haaland also became the first non-British player since Ruud van Nistelrooy in the 2001/02 season to win the prestigious award.

Erling Haaland shared after winning the PFA award: "I feel very happy, it's a special moment. I expected to do good things but everything that came to me was more than expected."

In addition to the best player of the year title, Haaland also won the best player of the month title three times last season (August, September and December 2022).

Along with the PFA Player of the Year award, Erling Haaland previously won the European Golden Boot, Football Writers' Association Player of the Year, Premier League Player of the Season, Premier League Young Player of the Season, Premier League Golden Boot, UEFA Champions League Top Scorer, as well as Man City Player of the Season.
