During the April 30th and May 1st holidays, Hanoi's streets were unusually deserted as many people had returned to their hometowns or gone on vacation . Looking down from above, a strange emptiness was visible everywhere.
Hanoi's streets have a new look. The Truong Chinh intersection, once a major traffic congestion hotspot, is now relatively free of vehicles.
The Le Van Luong - To Huu underpass intersection serves as a gateway connecting Ha Dong and Thanh Xuan districts with the streets leading into the city center.
At the Mai Dịch intersection, the section between Hồ Tùng Mậu and Phạm Văn Đồng recently had two steel overpasses constructed at a cost of over 340 billion VND, but they are still not open to traffic.
Pham Van Dong Street, the northern gateway to the capital, is now clear of traffic.
Hoang Quoc Viet Street is lush, peaceful, and free from the usual traffic congestion.
The scene of heavy traffic stopping at red lights at the Hoang Quoc Viet - Nguyen Van Huyen intersection is no longer present.
Le Van Luong Street is facing the intersection of Lang Ha and Lang Street.
Le Van Luong Street, viewed towards the Hoang Minh Giam - Nguyen Tuan intersection, is a well-known road with a high population density and frequent traffic congestion. Although only 2km long, it is lined with as many as 40 apartment buildings on both sides.
During rush hour, traffic on Lang Street stretches for several kilometers, with vehicles stopping at traffic lights, both from Nga Tu So intersection and from Buoi Street towards the intersections with Tran Duy Hung and Le Van Luong streets.
Vehicles traveling on Buoi Street are free to drive at the permitted speed.
Nguyen Trai Street, a "haunted road" for residents of Thanh Xuan and Ha Dong districts. During rainy weather, both sides of the street are completely packed with cars blocking the path meant for motorbikes.
Tran Duy Hung Street, which used to be notorious for becoming increasingly congested as the median strip was removed and the road widened, is now very clear.
Vo Chi Cong Street is lined with beautiful trees. Starting from Hoang Quoc Viet Street and heading north, you will encounter Xuan La, Nguyen Hoang Ton, Au Co, and An Duong Vuong streets.
Vo Chi Cong Street heads towards Nhat Tan Bridge.
The elevated section of Ring Road 3 is no longer experiencing the usual traffic congestion.
