As reported by Lao Cai newspaper, in the evening and night of June 9, Lao Cai city experienced showers and thunderstorms. Heavy rain flooded Thanh Nien Street through Duyen Hai Ward, causing difficulties for vehicles traveling through the area.

In particular, at 10 p.m., due to heavy rain and strong winds, two ancient tamarind trees on the sidewalk of Nhac Son Street, through Group 7, Coc Leu Ward, fell onto the road. The fallen trees did not cause any loss of life or property, but damaged the electrical system and telecommunication cables.

Immediately after the tree fell, Lao Cai City Electricity and Lao Cai Province Urban Environment Joint Stock Company sent forces to clean up to ensure traffic and restore power to serve the people.
