Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Pheuyavong affirmed that Vietnam's development today is due to the talented and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
After nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi process, from a poor, backward economy, following a centralized planning mechanism, relying heavily on the exploitation of resources, labor and external aid, Vietnam has transformed into a socialist-oriented market economy, achieving great development achievements of historical significance, with its foundation, potential, position and international prestige increasingly enhanced.
That was the sharing of Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Chairman of the Lao Central Theoretical Council Khamphanh Pheuyavong with VNA reporters in Vientiane.
Mr. Khamphanh Pheuyavong affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam's policy is the correct political policy. The implementation of the Communist Party of Vietnam's policy of renovation has achieved leaps and bounds in many different fields.

According to Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Khamphanh Pheuyavong, Vietnam is currently the 4th largest economy in ASEAN and 32nd in the world.
The average gross domestic product (GDP) per capita in 2024 will reach nearly 5,000 USD, bringing Vietnam into the group of developing countries with upper middle income. It is forecasted that Vietnam's economy will continue to grow at double-digit rates in the coming time and the state economy will be self-sufficient.
Regarding culture, Mr. Khamphanh Pheuyavong said that Vietnam has had clear innovations, along with the development of modern cultural values is the preservation of traditional cultural identities, making Vietnam an attractive country for domestic and foreign tourists to visit, such as eco-tourism, historical tourism, discovery tourism... have received favor and fame.
In terms of society, after nearly 40 years of innovation, Vietnam has achieved remarkable achievements, with the poverty rate in Vietnam falling to 2.93% (compared to Laos at 18.3%). Currently, Vietnam is focusing on developing education, nutrition, and high-quality human resources to develop spiritually.
Regarding science and technology, Vietnam has made a leap forward in this field, especially digital transformation and creative transformation have developed rapidly, bringing sustainable efficiency to the country.
The Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party shared that regarding diplomacy, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries; has relations with 247 political parties in 111 countries including about 90 international Communist and workers' parties, and the ruling and political parties play important roles.
The National Assembly has relations with the parliaments of more than 140 countries and actively participates in many important international parliamentary forums and 1,200 international organizations.
