The results achieved in building new rural areas, including the formation of flower roads, are thanks to Duyen Hai town (Tra Vinh province) mobilizing the entire political system; the consensus and synergy of all classes of people, especially mass organizations, have promoted the position, role and responsibility of mass organizations.
In particular, the construction of new rural flower roads by the Women's Union at all levels in the town has had many positive contributions.
Comrade Bui Thi Thu Thuy, Vice President of the Women's Union of Duyen Hai town, said: implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, with the role and responsibility of the Union, the Women's Union of the town has launched a campaign to grassroots associations to carry out many specific tasks.
In particular, the flower routes managed by the Association, associated with the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" have contributed to accelerating the progress of new rural construction. The campaign has been deployed, maintained regularly and systematically by the Women's Union of the town and voluntarily implemented by female members.
Currently, Duyen Hai town, Tra Vinh province has 12 flower routes managed by the Association, 9km long, mainly flowers: yellow trumpet vine, butterfly pea, bougainvillea, white peony... The existing routes are mostly implemented from the principle of socialization.
When completing the new rural flower roads, the Women's Union branches and groups took care of them enthusiastically, through specific tasks and achieved admirable results: The Union mobilized members to plant flowers along the roads, actively contributing to protecting the clean living environment, contributing to changing the appearance of the countryside.
The new rural flower route through Con Ong hamlet, Dan Thanh commune (Duyen Hai town, Tra Vinh province) is undertaken by the hamlet Women's Union. On the flower route, women plant many types of flowers along the road such as chrysanthemums, canna flowers, yellow trumpet flowers, bougainvillea, etc.
The implementation of flower roads has contributed to raising awareness among cadres, members and women in protecting the green, clean and beautiful environment, spreading to the people, limiting the situation of littering, contributing to meeting the standards of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas. In particular, focusing on the 3 clean criteria (clean house, clean kitchen, clean alley) associated with implementing criterion 17 on environmental protection in the 19 criteria for building new rural areas.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Dieu Hien, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Long Toan Commune (Duyen Hai Town, Tra Vinh Province) said: Long Toan Commune has 5/6 flower roads in hamlets: Giong Oi, Giong Trom, Phuoc An, Thong Nhat and Long Dien, more than 2.8km long, managed and cared for by the Union.
The advantage is that since implementing the model, the Association has always received consensus from the Party Committee and the government. In addition, the people, cadres and women members have always cared and supported.
In addition to the flower streets, the Women's Union of Duyen Hai town (Tra Vinh province) also implemented the Campaign to build "5 no, 3 clean" families, joining hands to build new rural areas.
Over the past time, the Association has deployed it to grassroots associations and has been positively received by branches and associations, who have participated in implementing, maintaining and gradually expanding it.
Flower streets are associated with the campaign to build "5 no, 3 clean" families and build civilized urban areas.
The grassroots association has coordinated with the People's Committees of hamlets in communes, wards, and socio-political organizations to clear bushes, collect garbage on roads and around houses, weed, plant flowers, build fences, flagpoles, and attach nameplates to the 3-clean road section...
These working sessions attracted a large number of women's union members and people to participate, collecting over 700kg of waste, with 209 participants.
To achieve the above results, at the beginning of the year, the Association conducted a survey to select locations and contents to register for the model implementation, paying special attention to activities related to improving the criteria of new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
In the first 9 months of 2023, the Women's Union of the town established a model of "Flower nursery garden" in Long Huu and Hiep Thanh communes, growing 1,850 butterfly pea plants; replanting 50 more moonflower and butterfly pea plants at 30/4 cluster, ward 2...
At the same time, the grassroots association launched 7 model points of the "5-clean-3-family" association, associated with "Household waste classification" in Long Toan, Long Huu, Dan Thanh, Truong Long Hoa communes, Ward 1, with 134 women participating. Continued to maintain 4 waste classification teams at the source with 195 members participating, equipped with 195 waste containers.
Focus on propaganda, mobilization, guidance, and providing knowledge on building families of "5 no, 3 clean", "5 yes, 3 clean" for 8,101 member households; currently, 6,736/6,736 households have registered to meet the criteria of "5 no, 3 clean", "5 yes, 3 clean". Of which, there are 719 households of Association officials, 3,061 households of members... of advanced new rural communes and model new rural communes.
