The Department of Tourism appreciates and highly appreciates the timely action of Ms. Dang Thi Ha, a tourist visiting Da Nang City, to save the life of an Indian tourist.

"This is a noble gesture of the health sector staff, and at the same time has the value of spreading the hospitality of the Vietnamese people and the destination of Da Nang in the hearts of tourists," Ms. Hanh shared.

Accordingly, the Da Nang Department of Tourism has sent a thank you letter and decided to award a certificate of merit from the director of the department to Ms. Dang Thi Ha, who is working at Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online over the phone, nurse Dang Thi Ha said she was very surprised to hear that she was awarded by the Da Nang Department of Tourism.

"When I was giving first aid to that tourist, I couldn't think of anything else, I just focused on doing CPR and CPR. I didn't even think about whether I would be implicated or not. Being rewarded was beyond my imagination," said Ms. Ha.

Ms. Ha said that when the video was posted online, she received many congratulations on the successful emergency surgery and encouragement for the nurse. For her, that was a huge gift.

Ms. Ha also said that she plans to return to Da Nang soon for tourism, and next time she will go with her parents.

"Da Nang is very beautiful, Da Nang people are lovely, have nice voices, and are friendly. I will come back soon," said Ms. Ha.

Director of Bach Mai Hospital - Mr. Dao Xuan Co - awarded a certificate of merit to nurse Dang Thi Ha for her excellent performance in emergency treatment of patients in the community. Mr. Co expressed his pride when hearing that his staff had worked very meaningfully, effectively and successfully in emergency treatment of foreign tourists outside the hospital.

"Out-of-hospital emergency care is very important. We can only receive emergency care at the hospital. Doing a good job of cardiac arrest emergency care, trauma emergency care, poisoning emergency care... will give patients a chance to live.

"A patient with circulatory arrest who is not given first aid within a few minutes is at risk of brain loss; a person with spinal cord injury who is not given proper first aid may have lifelong consequences," said Mr. Co.

Mr. Co also added that Bach Mai Hospital will coordinate with relevant units to provide training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
