To ensure disease prevention for livestock, Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh) is implementing vaccination against a number of dangerous diseases in buffalo, cows, and pigs.
On the morning of August 31, in Dai Loi village, Duc Tho town People's Committee organized vaccination against septicemia and foot-and-mouth disease for 150 cattle and buffaloes.
Duc Tho district has a total herd of over 13,000 buffaloes and cows, and over 14,000 pigs. In the second phase of 2023, the district strives to vaccinate 100% of livestock.
Currently, Duc Tho district has assigned the second vaccination target for livestock to communes and towns. Specifically: from August 31 to October 30, 2023, 21,000 doses of vaccine to prevent foot-and-mouth disease and septicemia for buffalo and cattle; 22,000 doses of vaccine to prevent African swine fever and septicemia in pigs.
Duc Tho strives to complete the second vaccination for livestock by October 30, 2023.
In order to make the second vaccination phase highly effective and ensure safety, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Center for Application of Science and Technology and Protection of Plants and Livestock of Duc Tho district sent staff to localities to urge, direct and guide vaccination work; promote propaganda work to raise people's awareness of disease prevention for livestock.
