Currently, Germany is facing a labor shortage due to an aging population and is short of 50,000 nursing workers. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese students.
On the afternoon of January 9, 2025, Bach Viet Polytechnic College coordinated with Viet International Human Resources Joint Stock Company (Vilaco Group) to organize a seminar "Comprehensive cooperation - For a common future".
Study in Germany: 100% free tuition, receive salary 955 - 1,600 euros
Sharing at the seminar, Dr. Holger Korte, Chairman of VIDACTA Group (a group specializing in consulting and introducing jobs in the education sector in Germany), said that Germany is a country with a developed economy in Europe but is facing a shortage of human resources due to an aging population.
Currently, Germany is short of 50,000 workers in the nursing industry alone. Meanwhile, nursing salaries in Germany increase every year. Therefore, according to Dr. Holger Korte, this is a great opportunity for Vietnamese students. To date, the VIDACTA Group has sent 300 Vietnamese students to study and work in Germany.
“The nursing industry in Germany is in dire need of human resources, so we can assure you that those who study nursing in Germany will have great job opportunities. We really hope you will come to Germany, we really need you,” Dr. Holger Korte shared.
A notable point is that students who transfer to study in Germany will be exempted from 100% of tuition fees. At the same time, students will receive a monthly salary of 955 - 1,600 euros/month depending on the profession. After graduation, income can reach 2,600 - 4,000 euros/month.
Dr. Holger Korte, Chairman of VIDACTA Group, shares about the situation of human resources in the nursing industry in Germany.
Regarding nursing training in Vietnam, Dr. Tran Manh Thanh, Principal of Bach Viet Polytechnic College, said that Germany has recognized the school's degrees and training programs. To continue studying and working in Germany, students need to learn the required language well, specifically German.
Master Nguyen Minh Luan, Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy - Nursing, Bach Viet Polytechnic College, said that the nursing training program at the school focuses on practice (accounting for 70%). The unit has signed agreements with major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City such as Gia Dinh People's Hospital, Trung Vuong, Nguyen Trai... so that students have many opportunities to practice before continuing to study and work abroad.
Foreign language is a prerequisite
Dr. Holger Korte emphasized that "language is the key to success". To study nursing in Germany, students need at least a B1 German certificate. Then, to enter the German labor market, students need at least a B2 German certificate, and must also pass a German skills assessment exam to be recognized as an official nurse.
Speaking more about this exam, Dr. Holger Korte said that the unit will support students in the exam preparation process while they are still studying in Vietnam through online review. After that, the exam preparation time in Germany will be shortened.
According to Ms. Luu Thi Ngoc Tuy, Chairwoman of Vilaco Group, the better your foreign language skills, the easier it is to succeed when studying and working in Germany.
Sharing at the seminar, Ms. Luu Thi Ngoc Tuy, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vilaco Group, said that studying and working in Germany is not too difficult. Students need to be diligent and hardworking. Not only in Germany, foreign language is a prerequisite when studying and working in any country.
According to Ms. Ngoc Tuy, learning German is not too difficult. "In learning a language, 98% is diligence and hard work, 2% is intelligence. The better you are at a foreign language, the easier it is to succeed," Ms. Tuy said.
