Speaking at the Germany-Africa Summit in Berlin, Mr. Scholz said that European countries should support developing African partners in finding environmentally friendly energy solutions.
The German Chancellor emphasized that if Africa chooses the development path of using oil, coal, and gas fuels like Europe and North America, the Earth will not be able to bear it.
According to the leader, closer cooperation between the European Union (EU) and African countries can both promote socio-economic development and protect the climate and environment.
Also at the Conference, Germany announced that it will provide additional aid worth 4.4 billion USD until 2030 to support investment under the EU-Africa Green Energy Initiative.
This Germany-Africa Summit, in addition to host Prime Minister Olaf Scholz, was also attended by the President of Senegal, the President of Nigeria, the Prime Minister of Morocco and the President of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire.
