DNVN - "We wish to develop Vietnam's Halal industry into a truly strong industry, making Vietnam an indispensable destination on the global Halal map, an important link in the supply chain of Halal products and services in the world"...

This important message was emphasized by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh before 600 domestic and foreign delegates attending the online and in-person national Halal conference on the afternoon of October 22 in Hanoi.

The Halal industry includes products that are "permitted" and "legal" for use according to Islamic Law, with strict requirements on ingredients, processing, and transportation.

With the theme "Promoting internal strength, enhancing international cooperation to boost the development of Vietnam's Halal industry", the national Halal conference is the largest international event on Halal held for the first time since the Prime Minister issued the Project "Enhancing international cooperation to build and develop Vietnam's Halal industry by 2030", which has important directional significance for the development of Vietnam's Halal industry.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that this is an important event, not only affirming Vietnam's position in the global economy but also opening up many opportunities for cooperation and sustainable development for the Halal industry.

The Prime Minister highlighted the profound humanitarian significance of developing the Halal industry. This industry not only helps connect Vietnamese people with the global Muslim community but also creates a cultural and economic bridge with other countries. In the context of complicated wars and conflicts, the development of the Halal industry becomes more necessary than ever, helping to create a solid foundation for peace and cooperation.

"The Halal market is expected to reach a size of 10 trillion USD by 2030, with the Muslim population estimated to reach nearly 3 billion by 2050, accounting for about 30% of the global population. The Halal industry spans many fields from agriculture, tourism, textiles to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. This opens up great opportunities for Vietnam to participate in the global value chain, thanks to Halal agricultural products and services," the head of the Government shared.

Pointing out three important advantages that help Vietnam to grow in the Halal industry, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam has a stable political environment and a rapidly growing economy. Vietnam is striving to perfect its investment institutions and ensure sustainable economic growth, with an economy worth 430 billion USD and an average income per capita of 4,300 USD.

Second, Vietnam is steadfast in its foreign policy of independence, diversification and international cooperation. This policy not only helps Vietnam become a reliable partner in the international community but also creates favorable conditions for establishing relations with Muslim countries.

Third, Vietnam possesses many agricultural products that meet Halal standards, such as seafood, pepper and rice, along with a rich tourism potential, especially Halal tourism. These factors create great opportunities to develop the Halal industry and attract foreign investment.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the goal is to develop the Halal industry into one of Vietnam's strengths. To achieve this, Vietnam will need to implement specific strategies to enhance international cooperation, perfect the legal framework and national Halal standards. At the same time, it is necessary to promote Vietnamese Halal products to the global market.

"We wish to develop Vietnam's Halal industry into a truly strong industry, making Vietnam an indispensable destination on the global Halal map, an important link in the supply chain of Halal products and services in the world," the Prime Minister expressed.

The Head of Government also called on the business community, especially foreign enterprises and businessmen, to continue to invest and cooperate in Vietnam in the spirit of "3 together": "Listening and understanding together", "sharing vision and action together", "working together, winning together, enjoying together, developing together; sharing joy, happiness and pride".

The Prime Minister believes that Vietnam will develop a professional, comprehensive, modern, sustainable and effective Halal industry, contributing to creating a new impetus for Vietnam's rapid and sustainable economic development. At the same time, it will contribute to developing the global Halal market, together building a good, harmonious and prosperous future between countries, between people, developing the digital economy, green economy, sustainable circular economy worldwide, including the Halal industry.
