At the invitation of the State of Japan, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, led a high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam to visit and work in Japan from March 31 to April 3. The visit took place in the context of the Vietnam-Japan relationship being in a good development stage, with the latest milestone being the event of the two countries upgrading their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world (November 2023). In the first activities of the visit, the delegation had meetings with Vice President of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party Aso Taro, Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party Motegi Toshimitsu; received Governor of Wakayama Prefecture Shuhei Kishimoto; met with outstanding officials and party members of the Party Committee and the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan. |

At the meetings, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai informed about the important and comprehensive results in many fields of Vietnam after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, especially the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development, Party building and political system, and foreign affairs since the beginning of the 13th National Party Congress. Highly appreciating the strong, comprehensive, and substantive development between the two countries after 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, comrade Truong Thi Mai affirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Japan; is ready to coordinate with the Government, the Liberal Democratic Party, and political parties and localities of Japan to develop the relationship between the two countries in a deep, comprehensive, and commensurate with the new position and level of bilateral relations. In order to further deepen the Vietnam-Japan relationship in the new period, the Standing Secretariat suggested that the two sides, especially the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, promote the role of the two ruling parties in promoting the concretization of high-level common perceptions and important contents in the "Joint Statement on Upgrading Vietnam-Japan Bilateral Relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World"; strengthen political relations through visits and contacts of high-ranking leaders of the two sides on the channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and people-to-people diplomacy; promote economic cooperation and in all fields, local exchanges to continuously progress substantially, in line with the sustainable development orientation of the two countries. He also thanked and expressed his hope that Japan would continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living and working in Japan. |

The leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party and localities of Japan highly appreciated the visit of Comrade Truong Thi Mai and the high-ranking delegation of our Party, and agreed with the proposals of the Standing Secretariat to bring the Japan-Vietnam cooperation relationship to a deeper, more substantive and effective level. Japan always attaches importance to and identifies Vietnam as an important comprehensive strategic partner in the region; is ready to work with the Party and State of Vietnam to improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation in all fields. The Liberal Democratic Party highly values and is ready to promote the friendly relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam; supports Japan's continued support for Vietnam in industrialization and modernization, strengthening the connection between the two economies and cooperation in various fields towards sustainable development and cooperation on international issues; and actively encourages localities and people's organizations of the two countries to increase exchanges, enhance understanding, and consolidate the foundation of friendship of the Japan-Vietnam relationship. |

At the meeting with outstanding cadres and party members of the Party Committee and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai informed about the main features of the domestic development situation, the policies and guidelines of the Party and State on socio-economic development, foreign affairs and the implementation of the tasks set out by the 13th National Party Congress, as well as preparations for the 14th National Congress. In order for the Vietnam-Japan relationship to reach its current level of development, comrade Truong Thi Mai acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions of the representative agencies, and at the same time requested the collective of cadres and party members of the Party Committee and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to continue to promote the fine tradition and achievements, strive to excellently fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and State, contributing to consolidating and promoting the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan to continuously develop sustainably for the benefit of the people of the two countries and for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.(according to VNA)
