Bringing the Law on Grassroots Democracy into Practice

Today, January 11, the Provincial Steering Committee for Building and Implementing Grassroots Democracy Regulations (QCDC) held a conference to review activities in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Building and Implementing QCDC at Grassroots Nguyen Dang Quang chaired the conference. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang; Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Dao Manh Hung; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Le Thi Lan Huong; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam attended the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang requested the Provincial Steering Committee for Building and Implementing Grassroots Democracy to pay attention to the inspection and supervision of the implementation of democracy in investigation, trial, temporary detention and temporary custody during the proceedings. At the same time, continue to propagate and disseminate the Law on Implementing Democracy at Grassroots thoroughly and deeply into life.

It is recommended that Quang Tri Newspaper, the provincial Radio and Television Station, electronic information sites... publish the contents of the Law on Grassroots Democracy for propaganda and guidance. At the same time, it is necessary to carry out supervision work after 1 year of implementing the Law on Grassroots Democracy.

In 2023, the Party Committee, government, and organizations in the political system from the provincial to the grassroots level have paid attention to leading and directing the serious and effective implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on building and implementing democracy at the grassroots level, in conjunction with promoting the implementation of the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit". Awareness of democracy and practicing democracy in society has been raised, direct democracy and representative democracy have increasingly been effective in many areas of social life.

Regularly strengthen and innovate the leadership of the Party, the management and administration of the State, the role of the people as masters, mobilize the people to participate in building and rectifying the Party, building a State of the people, by the people, for the people; innovate the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.

Consolidate and strengthen the close relationship between the Party, the government and the people, promote the strength of the great national unity bloc to participate in implementing the political tasks of the province, contribute to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security.

Actively innovate, publicize, improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of operations; continue to promote administrative reform, reform of the civil service regime; strengthen the work of receiving people, dialogue, resolving complaints and denunciations of citizens. The implementation of democracy in communes, wards and towns has become routine, promoting positive effects in the community.

Regarding the key directions and tasks in 2024, the Steering Committee for Building and Implementing the QCDC at the grassroots level of the province focuses on directing the dissemination and implementation of the action program to implement the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress in conjunction with building and implementing the QCDC at the grassroots level.

Strengthen the responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels in building and implementing democracy at the grassroots level in association with socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and ensuring social security.

Along with that, we will focus on leading and directing administrative reform, enhancing the responsibility of state administrative agencies and authorities at all levels to best serve the people and businesses. We will strengthen inspection and supervision of the construction and implementation of democracy at all types of grassroots.
