(Dan Tri) - In 2024, Ca Mau province will send more than 600 workers to work abroad under contracts, most of which are in the Japanese market.
On December 27, according to information from the Ca Mau Provincial Employment Service Center (under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs), in 2024, the province will have 602 workers working abroad under contracts, reaching 100.3% of the target.
Of which, the largest number is in the Japanese market (337 people, accounting for more than 50%), the rest are in Korea, Taiwan, Canada,... In addition, the center also coordinated with Thoi Binh district to send 50 workers to work seasonally in Jeollabuk province (Korea).
The province created jobs for more than 48,850 people, exceeding the plan by 21.2%, up 6.3% over the same period in 2023; of which about 17,560 people were in the province and more than 30,600 people were outside the province.
To achieve the above-mentioned figures, according to Ms. Quach Thanh Thoang, Director of the Ca Mau Provincial Employment Service Center, last year the unit coordinated well with a number of companies to create sources to send workers to work abroad.
The Center also coordinates with units under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and localities to organize propaganda, direct job consultation and referral hundreds of times to workers.
"Through online job exchange activities, the demand for labor recruitment and successful job connection results have brought positive signals such as exploiting hundreds of orders with the need to recruit thousands of vacant positions in and outside the province, as well as working abroad under contracts," said Ms. Thoang.
One of the breakthrough tasks of the year, according to the leader of the Ca Mau Provincial Employment Service Center, is to deploy the "Smart Employment" solution. This model, with QR code scanning (with relevant information about jobs) at training, propaganda and consultation sessions in the locality, has helped people easily access labor market information.
Implementing the task in 2025, Ca Mau province set the goal of consulting and introducing jobs at home and abroad for about 15,000 people; creating jobs for 40,600 workers. Of which, sending workers to work abroad for 700 people.
The Center continues to organize many job fairs in person, online or a combination of both, as well as consulting and implementing local employment policies to achieve the set goals.
Also according to the Ca Mau Provincial Employment Service Center, through review, it is shown that there is currently information about recruiting seasonal workers to work in some countries with low travel costs, no training, high income, from which many local people have learned and participated.
The center has proposed that the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ca Mau province coordinate with relevant agencies and the police to review "brokers" who take advantage of the province's labor support policy to directly advise and send workers to work abroad without going through state management agencies, especially workers working under seasonal programs to avoid causing damage to the people.
