Sitting on a pile of assets and not knowing what to do with, Jessica and her husband decided to take their young child on a trip to see what was going on around the world.

Jessica and Garrett Gee, an American couple, have spent eight years traveling to 90 countries with their three children. This decision came after her husband sold his app to Snapchat for $54 million in 2014.

After saving up $45,000 and selling most of their belongings, the couple took a long trip to Southeast Asia in August 2015, regularly updating their social media accounts. Their youngest child, Callihan, was born while they were on the road in 2018.

Before that, aside from a trip to Europe, the furthest Jessica Gee had ever traveled with her family was to Walt Disney World in Florida, USA, when she was a child. In the past eight years, she has made up for it by visiting 90 countries with her husband Garrett and three children Dorothy, Manilla, Calihan. Jessica never thought she would travel around the world, "but the more I travel, the more I want to see the world," said the tourist from Denver, Colorado.

In Southeast Asia, the couple spent a few months experiencing Thailand, Singapore, then they continued to New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands and then home. After a short time back in the US, they wanted to go again. The original plan to travel for a few months lasted for 3 years and continues to this day.

Of all the places she's been to, Jessica says Belize is one of the most family-friendly destinations for kids. She recommends the Central American country as a "good starting point" for families who aren't ready to venture out. She also recommends "incredible" Alaska for those looking for outdoor adventures with their kids.

The American woman found that full-time travel was "easier" than short trips. She often felt more exhausted after a week's vacation than after a trip of one or several months. One of the challenges she faced was being pregnant and traveling at the same time. When she was pregnant with Callihan, Jessica was in her early 30s. The frequent flying and traveling left her with back pain and aches. "But I also visited a lot of my favorite places during those nine months of pregnancy," she said.

Jessica's family often involves their children in travel planning, including having them pack their backpacks and organize everything, even when flying long distances. "Then when they get on the plane, they're excited to pull out the toys, books, and snacks they've prepared," she said.

According to Jessica, one of the best ways to make traveling with children easier is to always stay in the best mood. Children behave like their parents, so even though the trips are tiring, the couple always stay optimistic and try their best. She believes that if parents lose their cheerful attitude, the children will lose it too.

Jessica’s Instagram account now has nearly 3 million followers. They continued to launch YouTube and TikTok accounts, reaping success and high income thanks to various partners, companies placing ads, signing contracts, and sponsoring. In 2018, the couple bought a bungalow in Hawaii. After spending the summer in South Africa, the couple is preparing for an upcoming trip to Antarctica.
