baophutho.vnEvery spring, millions of Vietnamese people eagerly make a pilgrimage to Phu Tho, the origin of the Vietnamese people, the cradle of Lac Viet culture, to pay tribute to their ancestors, and at the same time discover and experience the strong cultural imprints through unique heritages and festivals with their own values, creating the cultural identity of the Ancestral Land.

The festival of King Hung teaching people to plant rice takes place on February 12, 2025.

Joining the crowd of people from all over the country coming to Hung Temple to celebrate the New Year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, in Long Bien, Hanoi said: Every year, after Tet, the first place my family goes to visit is Hung Temple, the place to worship the first Hung Kings of the Vietnamese people, to offer a stick of incense to express gratitude and remember the merits of the Hung Kings, and at the same time pray for a new year of peace, luck and happiness for loved ones.
In the cold weather, the natural scenery blends with the ancient space, the ringing bells and the fragrant scent of incense and flowers make the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site even more sacred. After many years of construction and renovation, the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site has become much more spacious and beautiful. Traffic safety, security and order, reception, guidance, and attentive service to the people and tourists have met the spiritual and cultural needs of the people and pilgrims coming to worship and make offerings at the beginning of the year.

In graceful ao dai, Ms. Hoang Thi Hue and her husband, Mr. Keacing Andrew, an Australian, and their family eagerly watched the Hung King Festival teaching people to plant rice. Mr. Andrew took the opportunity to hold a camera to record the images recreating the scene of King Hung going down to the fields to teach people to plant rice and shared: Having married here, my wife told me about the only festival symbolizing the rice cultivation profession of the Vietnamese people associated with the Hung King era. I really enjoy being able to join the festival with the people. According to Ms. Hue, this is the first Tet that Mr. Andrew has returned to Vietnam to celebrate Tet with his wife.

In most localities in the province, the New Year festivals have become cultural rendezvous points in the Spring such as: King Hung Festival teaching people to plant rice (Viet Tri City); Au Co Temple Festival (Ha Hoa District); Lang Suong Temple Festival (Thanh Thuy District); Tro Tram Festival, Princess Gai Festival (Lam Thao District); Muong people's going to the fields festival (Thu Cuc Commune, Tan Son District)... This is an opportunity for people to express their gratitude to their roots and ancestors, practice the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking"; recreating the beauty of daily life and production, expressing wishes for a peaceful and prosperous life.

To meet the needs of tourists in the early spring, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with localities, tourism promotion centers, and travel agencies to proactively promote strengths, build and innovate, diversify tourism products to increase new experiences, create highlights to attract tourists such as: Au Co Temple Tour (Ha Hoa district) - Hung Temple - Communal House, Hung Lo ancient village (Viet Tri city); Hung Temple - Communal House, Hung Lo ancient village - Thanh Thuy hot spring resort - Lang Suong Temple (Thanh Thuy district); Hung Temple - Communal House, Hung Lo ancient village - Au Co Temple - Ao Chau Lagoon (Ha Hoa district) - Doan Hung Grapefruit Garden (Doan Hung district)... At the same time, strengthen management to ensure festival activities at the beginning of the year, contributing to creating a safe, civilized, exemplary festival season, bringing the image of the Ancestral Land closer to the people of the whole country and international friends.

Phu Tho is known as the land of origin of the nation with a rich culture, history and civilization with more than 300 festivals. Traditional folk festivals of the Ancestral Land are often associated with the cultural space of the community, containing historical values, spiritual cultural values and reflecting the values of intangible cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation. In addition to the typical rituals, many festivals are also combined with traditional entertainment and sports activities such as shuttlecock kicking, chess, dancing and folk games... creating excitement and attracting the participation of a large number of tourists.
