With its continuous position in the top localities as attractive destinations, attracting the most tourists in the country, “Thanh Hoa Tourism - Four Seasons of Fragrance” has been affirming its position on the national tourism map. This is an important basis for tourist areas and spots in the province to promote attracting visitors from key domestic and international tourism markets in the coming time.

In recent years, especially in 2024, Thanh Hoa has been focusing on developing high-quality coastal resort tourism products, becoming the "core" to spread tourism throughout the province. Up to now, Thanh Hoa's coastal tourism products have built a prominent brand in the Northern and North Central regions, becoming products with scale, competitiveness, and the ability to attract visitors. In particular, the type of tourism combining golf at the 5-star luxury coastal resort FLC Sam Son; resort combined with entertainment at Flamingo Ibiza Hai Tien; Sun World Sam Son Water Park... has attracted a large number of high-spending tourists in recent times.

In addition, improving the quality of some key tourism products such as: Historical - spiritual culture, community ecology, agriculture - rural areas (associated with high-tech agriculture), waterways, tourism combined with conferences - seminars (MICE) ... has contributed to creating high-value tourism products, attracting the attention of domestic and international tourists. The diversification of tourism products has also contributed to improving the competitiveness of tourism in the province, helping to prolong the length of stay and increase the spending capacity of visitors, transforming tourism in a positive and sustainable direction.

In recent years, many new tourism products and services have been put into operation, creating a highlight for the province's tourism industry. Some of the attractive products and entertainment activities include: kayaking, ziplining, go-kart racing, paintball, Nghi Son - Me Island tour (Nghi Son town); Ne Island tour, paragliding, a large festival street with a variety of services at Flamingo Ibiza Hai Tien (Hoang Hoa); Sea square, water music performance, walking street, night market, street art performance, Sun World Sam Son Water Park (Sam Son city) ... contributing to enhancing Thanh Hoa tourism brand.

According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 10 months of 2024, the number of visitors to Thanh Hoa reached nearly 14.7 million, reaching 106.3% of the 2024 plan; total tourism revenue reached over 32.4 trillion VND, reaching 100.2% of the 2024 plan. Accordingly, from 2023 to present, Thanh Hoa has risen to rank 4th in the country in attracting tourists (after Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Quang Ninh) and ranked 5th in total tourism revenue (after Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ninh).

Entering a new development phase, Thanh Hoa tourism is facing many opportunities to increase spending levels and extend the length of stay of tourists, especially international tourists and those with high spending ability. Notably, the whole province currently has 82 tourism business investment projects, with a total registered capital of about 153,000 billion VND. Among them, there are large-scale projects, synchronous service systems, aiming to meet the needs of high-end tourists that have been and are being implemented such as: Sea Square and Festival Landscape Axis Project (Sam Son City); Ben En high-end eco-tourism, resort and entertainment urban area (Nhu Thanh); Sun Beauty Onsen Thanh Hoa hot mineral resort urban area in Quang Yen commune (Quang Xuong); Hotel complex, commercial center in Quang Nham commune (Quang Xuong); Flamingo Linh Truong marine eco-tourism and resort area and Flamingo Linh Truong Project Area B (Hoang Hoa)...

With its existing potential, in the coming time, Thanh Hoa province will promote attracting international visitors in markets with large sources of visitors and rapid growth such as: Northeast Asia market block (mainly China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Korea), Russia, the US, France. At the same time, focus on promoting high-end, quality tourism products such as: beach resorts, golf tourism, culture - history, health care, community ecology, MICE... Aiming to promote and advertise on digital platforms, strengthen coordination and cooperation with international television channels CNN, BBC... to create greater efficiency in attracting international visitors.

Mr. Pham Nguyen Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: “The strong recovery in recent times is the basis for Thanh Hoa tourism to continue to promote product improvement, improve service quality, aiming to become one of the key tourism destinations of the country. Accordingly, Thanh Hoa province has been focusing on leading, directing, and creating conditions for potential investors to invest in tourism projects and tourism infrastructure to create breakthroughs in improving the tourism environment; at the same time, diversifying high-quality tourism products, investing in in-depth tourism products to have great added value... Striving by 2030, Thanh Hoa will become one of the tourism development centers of the North Central region, with a synchronous system of technical facilities, affirming its brand and competitiveness, in line with the goal of transforming the growth model from breadth to harmonious development between breadth and depth”.
