According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Dinh, it is estimated that during the Tran Temple Opening Festival in the spring of Giap Thin 2024, there will be about 170,000 visitors visiting Nam Dinh. The average room occupancy rate in Nam Dinh city during this time is about 70-80%, some hotels are fully booked.
Representatives of some accommodation establishments in Nam Dinh such as Vi Hoang Hotel, SOJO Nam Dinh Hotel... said that although it is a festival, the units do not apply surcharges or increase prices. A representative of Vi Hoang Hotel said that today's room occupancy rate (February 22) is about 80%, and is expected to be fully booked on the main holiday day.
Mr. Pham Xuan Tuyen - Director of SOJO Nam Dinh Hotel said that during the two peak days of the festival, February 22 and 23, the room occupancy rate at this hotel reached 90%. On other days during the Tran Temple Festival, SOJO Nam Dinh Hotel reached an average occupancy rate of about 50%.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Dinh said it has directed the Department's Inspectorate to coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and control of tourism service business quality, promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle violations of the law on tourism business activities, ensuring a healthy and safe business environment.
Minimize jostling and pushing during festivals
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Binh - Head of the Management Board of the Tran Temple - Thap Pagoda Historical and Cultural Relic Site, this year the Festival Organizing Committee has had many solutions to divide and regulate traffic, minimizing the situation of tourists jostling and pushing. In addition to reasonable arrangements for parking and traffic, the Organizing Committee has arranged many flower spaces, miniature landscapes, experience areas... outside the temple to create a spacious and beautiful landscape, also to give tourists a place to check-in, sightsee, and avoid congestion in the temple grounds.
In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Dinh also organized cultural activities at the Tran Temple - Pho Minh Pagoda relic site to introduce and promote some typical types of cultural heritage, serving the needs of sightseeing and enjoying traditional cultural values of the people. The relic system in Nam Dinh, especially the Tran Temple and Pho Minh Pagoda relic site, is connected with the Nam Dinh Provincial Museum to form a sightseeing route and tourism products, contributing to the implementation of the project "Innovation, improvement of quality and efficiency of museum activities associated with tourism development".
Ms. Le Thi Thiet - President of Nam Dinh Culinary Culture Association said that on this occasion, some artisans and units under the association organized culinary booths, introducing local specialties of Nam Dinh to the public. On this occasion, Dien Bien province's cuisine and delicacies of the Northwest region also participated in the booths to give visitors more experiences. From now until February 24 (ie January 15), at the booths there will be discount hours or free experiences of some dishes for visitors.
On the occasion of this year's Tran Temple Festival, cultural and tourism activities include a photo exhibition of beautiful Nam Dinh tourism and a tourism promotion booth, displaying photos, publications, and a tourism promotion booth to introduce to tourists the areas, destinations, products, and tourism services of Nam Dinh.
In addition, the exhibition activities "Thien Truong Palace - Golden Imprint"; performances of some types of intangible cultural heritage such as water puppetry, Xam singing, Ca Tru singing, Chau Van singing; chess competitions, playing "To Tom Diem", dragon and unicorn dancing, drums, children's brass instruments, martial arts; display of ornamental creatures; kite and flute exhibition; introduction of culinary culture and OCOP products will contribute to attracting a large number of people and tourists to Nam Dinh.
