The Thai ethnic group in Con Cuong district has many unique features in culture as well as in daily life. Through many generations, they have preserved indigenous knowledge such as folk songs and dances, folk medicine, cuisine, traditional crafts, etc. These cultural values are a solid foundation for Tra Lan region to aim for the goal of developing livelihoods without losing its unique assets. In order to maximize the intellectual values of the Thai ethnic group here, thereby applying them harmoniously and flexibly to develop community tourism, the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An province has assigned the Center for Social Sciences and Humanities to closely and smoothly coordinate with the People's Committee of Con Cuong district to organize the construction of a model to promote indigenous knowledge, enhance the culinary space to meet the needs of domestic and foreign diners. During the implementation process, it is necessary to orient the communication properly, focusing on spreading the community tourism model in Con Cuong in the direction of sustainable eco-tourism, not erasing core cultural values for the sake of economic development. Con Cuong is located in the Western region of Nghe An, blessed by nature with poetic landscapes and beautiful mountains and rivers. After hundreds of years of history, Tra Lan region still has ancient Thai villages, still preserving its unique traditional cultural identity. Although society is constantly changing, traditional industries and occupations (brocade weaving, bamboo and rattan weaving, production of fermented wine, purple sticky rice, and rice wine) are still maintained by the people as if they were daily meals and drinks. Aware of its unique potential and advantages, for the past 10 years, Con Cuong has focused on promoting the development of eco-tourism, community tourism, and agricultural tourism. Through hard work and development over time, Con Cuong has now become a notable experiential tourism destination in Western Nghe An and the entire North Central region.
