The 66 km long Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway, passing through Dong Nai and Lam Dong provinces, has a total estimated investment of VND18,120 billion in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just requested the Ministry of Transport to appraise the feasibility study report of the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway construction project. The starting point of the route coincides with the end point of the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway, Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province; the end point is in Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province. The entire route is 66 km long, of which the section passing through Dong Nai province is about 11 km, and Lam Dong province is 55 km.
In the first phase, the road is 17 m wide with 4 car lanes, designed speed of 80 km/h, no emergency lane but stops are arranged, expected to be operational in 2026. In the completed phase, the roadbed is 22 m wide, with 4 car lanes and 2 emergency lanes.
On the route, there are also constructions to serve exploitation, operation center, intelligent traffic system, toll station, technical inspection station and rest stop.
The total investment of the project in the first phase is 18,120 billion VND, of which site clearance is more than 2,820 billion VND; construction and equipment is nearly 11,000 billion VND, contingency costs are 2,450 billion VND, and interest during construction is 1,010 billion VND.
The Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway project has been approved by the Government for investment in the form of PPP with a total investment of 17,200 billion VND, of which the State capital participating in the project is 6,500 billion VND, the rest is investor capital and mobilized capital.
The expressway will connect with two sections of Dau Giay - Tan Phu and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong that are being prepared for investment. Once completed, the expressway, which is over 200 km long, will improve connectivity and shorten the time from Ho Chi Minh City to the Central Highlands provinces with the key economic region in the South.
The project also improves freight transport capacity, meeting increasing travel demand; reduces congestion and traffic accidents on overloaded National Highway 20, especially black spots in the Bao Loc Pass area.
