Coming to Phan Thiet, besides resort activities, entertainment and recreation on the sea, visitors can spend time exploring the seafood market of Mui Ne fishing village.

The interesting and somewhat different point of Mui Ne fish market is the way of selling – calculating the price of seafood by the bucket. Each bucket of seafood costs from 100,000 VND to several hundred thousand VND, depending on the quantity, type of seafood and size. People rarely use scales.

Many visitors to the market were surprised when a bowl of fresh seafood such as snails, crabs, squid eggs, etc. was sold for the same price of 150,000 VND. Lobsters were also sold by bowl, from 400,000 VND to 1 million VND/bowl, each bowl had 3-5 lobsters.

However, tourists should also note that in recent years, many vendors have brought frozen foods to the market for sale. Wrong weighing at the market has also been reported by tourists.

To admire the scenery of the famous and largest seafood wholesale market in Quang Nam, visitors must wake up very early, arriving from 5:00 to 5:30 a.m. This place is about 15km from Tam Ky city center, about 50km from Hoi An ancient town.

The southern fish season in Tam Tien lasts from early April to late September. Seafood at the market is diverse, such as alum fish, pomfret, mullet, tuna, anchovy, hairtail, mackerel, shrimp, crab, snails... with "unbelievably cheap" prices ranging from about 125,000 VND to 230,000 VND/kg.

Hunting for strange and cheap seafood at Ly Son fish market (Quang Ngai)

The fish market located right at the old Ly Son wharf is a place that attracts many tourists when they come to this island. The market opens for 2-3 hours every morning, and is a place to "hunt" for fresh, unique seafood such as red grouper, betel nut fish, flower-shaped silver pomfret, red snapper, green parrot fish, pomfret fish, etc.

Seafood here is caught and transported at night or early morning so it is still fresh. The people are locals so they are open-minded and enthusiastic in selling.

The market has many types of seafood, with prices much more affordable than on the mainland, such as grouper (250,000-300,000 VND/kg, large size), sea urchin, sea urchin roe (200,000 VND/500 gram jar)...

Sea urchin is a specialty of this island in July and August every year. Although the outer shell of the urchin is ugly, looking like a spiky ball, when processed it is irresistibly delicious.

The largest seafood market in Cam Pha (Quang Ninh), located on the shore of Bai Tu Long Bay

Ben Do fish market is located at the end of Dat Do street, in Cam Thuy ward, on the shore of Bai Tu Long bay, considered the largest seafood wholesale market in Cam Pha city. Here, every morning, hundreds of boats gather to buy and sell seafood.

From here, the traders buy goods and sell them directly or disperse to small markets or deliver them to shops in the city. Not only that, seafood from Ben Do market is also sent to other provinces and cities for trading or as gifts.

The bustling atmosphere of buyers and sellers with fresh, sparkling fish and shrimp… creates a colorful picture in the mining area.
