The 2023 Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival with the theme "Hanoi - Come to love", organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism at Tran Nhan Tong walking street, has received the attention of many tourists.

Artisan Dang Van Hau, who makes traditional figurines, shares: “The difficulty in developing this profession is to maintain and enhance the traditional image of national folk culture. On the one hand, I develop designs to suit the times, on the other hand, I want to restore traditional figurines because they have a very high national character.”

The booth displayed many traditional figurines, the artisan added: “Normally, when people buy to he for their children to play with, the artistic value of the product is only moderate. But when designed as a gift, it needs to be sophisticated, beautiful in terms of art, and beautiful in terms of national cultural stories. When tourists bring this gift back to their country, it will be meaningful.”
Ms. Ly Le Quyen, a Chinese graduate student and Vietnamese language teacher for Chinese students, shared: “The festival has many booths representing Vietnamese cultural identity. Ms. Mai, a craftswoman from the traditional bamboo and rattan weaving village of Phu Vinh, said that the craft village always focuses on diversifying product designs to suit the tastes of today’s consumers. Hats, handbags, suitcases, tea tables, trays, jewelry, etc. are all meticulously and creatively designed by craftsmen.
